Walking Side by Side with the Past on the Bridge Woljeong Bridge remains silent, yet its gestures commemorate the past. It also offers us, amidst the hustle and bustle of modern life, the opportunity to briefly journey back to a time when "even the moonlight understood tenderness." Woljeong Bridge was once a crucial bridge connecting the royal palace with the common people's market during the Silla Dynasty. The ancient text "Samguk Sagi" records: "Woljeong Bridge stretches from Wolseong in the west to Namsan in the east." Back then, it wasn't just a bridge for crossing the river; it served as a conduit for the connection between royal power and the people's hearts. Destroyed by fire and war, it lay in ruins for centuries. Only recently has it been rebuilt from the ruins, allowing us to once again witness the magnificent beauty of Silla architecture.
