The National Museum of Vietnamese History

The National Museum of Vietnamese History in Hanoi (Viet. Bảo tàng Lịch sử) is a great place to get to know the culture and historical path of the country. The story begins with a building that was built in Hanoi in 1926. Previously, there was the French Museum of the Far East, but with the increase in exhibits, it was renamed the Historical Museum. This happened on September 3, 1958. The exposition covers a huge time interval, from prehistoric times (about 300,000-400,000 years) to August 1945, when the revolution took place. Subsequent years, up to the present day, were moved to a separate building across the road, to the Museum of the Revolution. Both of these museums have a single ticket. In a two-storey building on a total area of ​​2200 sq.m. about 7,000 original artifacts, which are arranged in chronological order. Also, the National Museum of Vietnamese History regularly organizes thematic exhibitions. There are many rare and valuable items here, especially collections ranging from the ancient cultures of Hoa Binh-Bac Son and Dong Son (3rd century BC - 3rd century AD): Vietnamese ancient ceramics, Hindu Champa stone sculptures, bronze products of the Le-Nguyen dynasty, Khmer culture. There are exhibits from Central and South Vietnam, the Central Highlands, from a shipwreck near the island of Cu Lao Cham. There are artifacts from China, Japan, Thailand.
