This is tempura momiji, one of Japan’s unique dish that originated from Hiroshima. Momiji means maple leaf in Japanese. Tempura momiji is a dish where they use homemade cake-like bun filled with different fillings and fry them with tempura batter. It’s very tasty! This shop is located in Miyajima, a 10 minutes ferry ride from Miyajimaguchi station. It takes around 30 mins bus ride from hiroshima station to miyajimaguchi station. There are lots of things to see and lots of food to try on this island~ Please do lah a visit there ~ It is best to visit during Sakura season where you can enjoy the view and food at the same time ~
Birds View of Miyajima Island
When visiting Miyajima Island in Japan, you have the option to climb up to Mt. Misen to see the whole island from its highest point.
My favourite part of this journey is the breeze you get when you reach the very top. It was by no means a easy walk as paths aren’t properly crafted. On the way up to the peak you’ll see tons of geographical land formations, small temples and even mini statues that some people dress up! It is absolutely adorable!
At the peak of the mountain there is a lookout point where you can enjoy the success of your trek up the mountain. Something cool about being here is that you can see the even smaller island where they grow and harvest oysters. I’ve been told that the way oysters are grown and harvested in Hiroshima is unique as they wait for them to weigh down the wooden planks before harvesting them. Hence ensuring they are fat and juicy for consumption.

Miyajima and deers of God
Miyajima is a small island located in Hiroshima Bay, Japan, and is famous for its floating torii gate, one of Japan's most iconic landmarks and third priest place in all of Japan.
Visiting Miyajima is easy with a regular 15min ferry. Itsukushima Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that dates back to the 6th century is the main attraction. Its iconic torii gate appears to float on the water during high tide, and is accessible on foot during low tide.
There are other landmark attractions but perhaps the second most fascinating thing to see is the wild dear! They are considered a divine animal and roam freely. They purposefully approach visitors in search of food. Be careful though - they will eat everything, including your papers, hair and clothing if you let them!
Miyajima is famous for its oysters, which are considered some of the best in Japan. The island has many street vendors selling local specialties such as momiji manju - maple leaf-shaped cakes filled with sweet bean paste, and "deer poop ice cream". I'd recommend spending at least two hours on the island or longer if you'd like to stay for a meal.

Five-Story Pagoda Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Gojunoto in Hiroshima, Japan is one of my favorite building to see. This five storeys japanese pagoda has such a beautiful architecture. I can’t stop staring at this building and studying every detail of it. I highly recommend to visit here if you love ancient japanese building. amazing. #wintergetaway

The most convenient way to travel is Hiroshima. It is free to go anywhere. Unexpectedly, the first day of heavy rain, I changed to take the bus, first went to the most winning courtyard to see the five-storied pagoda. The most successful school was built in 1532, started in 1556, and the five-storied tower built in 1667 was 31.2 meters high. It is called the most beautiful five-storied pagoda in the Northeast. There are not many tourists here, it is quiet. A gust of wind blew, the cherry blossom petals fell quietly, it was so beautiful. There is a Yasaka Shrine next to
, which can be visited together.

Itsukushima Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
one of the must visit places in Japan - Itsukushima Shrine
Itsukushima Shrine is a Shinto shrine on Miyajima Island which is near Hiroshima. It is best known for its big floating torii gate .
Miyajima can be reached by ferry from Hiroshima or from Miyajimaguchi- which is faster. after getting off at Miyajima guchi train station, simply walk toward the ferry pier. On the weekend there is often a large crowd so following them would likely lead you to the ferry terminal.
There are two ferry companies running ferries between Miyajimaguchi and Miyajima; the JR ferry and the Miyajima Matsudai Kisen. Both have large passenger ferries and costs ¥360 round trip for the 10 minutes ride. there are four ferries per hour between 8-6pm, and less frequent schedules in the early and evening hours.
After arriving to the island, turn right and walk for 10-15 minutes to reach the shrine. Weekends are particularly busy with tourists so getting there early would help.
There are also many deer roaming around so beware of not feeding them with food- they will follow you!
It is best to reserve 4-5 hours to leisurely walk around the Shrine and the island. if you have time , a few more hours would be even better to walk further, and enjoy a lunch or tea , or even grilled oysters!

A Treasure of History and Culture
The Itsukushima Otori Gate is a sight to behold. It’s truly one of the most amazing pieces of history that you’ll ever come across. This gate is HUGE. It is truly massive. And it’s one of those things that you wouldn’t be able to understand until you actually visit it.
I really enjoyed just being around it and talking to people about the history and cultural significance of it. This particular gate survived the atomic bomb that was dropped on Hiroshima in 1945. On top of that significant history pointer, this gate is also a key cultural piece that acts as a gate between the human and spirit world. This gate was built along with the shrine near the shore to worship the gods of the sea and storm. It’s truly a sight to behold.

Mount Misen Observatory Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Observatory at the top of Miyajima ⛩
#wecreate
Hello everyone, today I want to tell you about one of the most scenic and rewarding places to visit in Japan: the Mount Misen Observatory in Miyajima island.
I visited this place last October and I was stunned by the beauty and the tranquility of the island and the mountain.
The Mount Misen Observatory is located at the summit of Mount Misen, the highest peak on Miyajima island. It offers a spectacular view of the Seto Inland Sea and the surrounding islands.
To get there, you need to take a ferry from Hiroshima or Miyajimaguchi to Miyajima island. The ferry ride takes about 10 minutes and costs 180 yen one way, if you got the JR rail pass it is included so is free for you
Once you arrive at the island, you can choose to hike up to the observatory or take a cable car. I decided to hike, which took me about 2 hours. The hike was easy and enjoyable, with many sights along the way, such as temples, shrines, statues, and wild deer.
The observatory was well worth the hike. I was greeted by a panoramic view of the sea and the sky, with a gentle breeze and a peaceful atmosphere. I felt like I was on top of the world.
The observatory is open from 9 am to 5 pm and has a souvenir shop and a cafe. The admission is free. but there is no food on top and i think also no water so bring yours if possible
The Mount Misen Observatory is a must-see for anyone who loves nature and adventure. It's a place where you can relax, recharge, and admire the beauty of Japan.
If you're looking for a memorable and unique experience in Japan, don't miss the chance to visit the Mount Misen Observatory in Miyajima island. You'll be glad you did.
