Dream of Tai Mo Shan

Although I have been away from Hong Kong for many years, I still miss the dreamlike beauty of Tai Mo Shan. It was a cool autumn day, and I climbed up the mountain with my friend in light luggage. The scenery along the way became more and more open. When approaching the top of the mountain, the golden miscanthus all over the mountain suddenly jumped into the eyes. Under the reflection of the setting sun, it swayed gently in the breeze, making the whole Tai Mo Mountain look like it was covered with a layer of golden light. We made our way quickly to the top, scrambling on our hands and feet to get to a large rock at the top. Our feet were suspended in the air, looking towards Kowloon, and it seemed as if the whole of Hong Kong was at our feet. We lingered on every change of light and shadow at dusk, and only reluctantly went down the mountain when the sun sank below the sea level and the last ray of light disappeared in the sky.
