Kushiro, the birthplace of robatayaki

#JulyTravelSupport #JapanTravel #HokkaidoTravel #TsubuyakiKadoya About a three-hour drive (or train ride) from Sapporo, we arrived in Kushiro, the birthplace of robatayaki. First, we had grilled fish, and then we had the Kushiro specialty, tsubuyaki (grilled whelk).

When I woke up a little after six in the morning, I was lucky enough to see three deer 🦌 wading to the other side and disappearing into the forest. I had breakfast scheduled for 8:30, and while enjoying the view outside the window, I also looked forward to the extra performance of wild animals 🤣. I stayed in the room and enjoyed everything until the last moment before leaving. Before leaving, I took a picture of the maple tree in front of the door, which I will miss so much 🍁, and said goodbye with a wave of my sleeves 🥲. On the way to Kushiro, we were lucky enough to see two wild red-crowned cranes in the rice fields. We visited the Red-crowned Crane Nature Park with excitement. Wild cranes will take up residence where there is food to feed them, a bit like young people who don't want to work hard 😅. But I still think the vitality and color and body shape of wild cranes are different 🤣! We continued on to the largest wetland, Kushiro Wetlands. We walked the 2.5km circular route through the forest for a pleasant hour. Arriving at the Kushiro Market, I had no desire for raw food and was craving a bowl of hot noodle soup. Unfortunately, the one-star Michelin restaurant, Uoichi Kobo, was sold out. Google found a soba restaurant owned by a grandmother in her eighties. The lovely woman didn't speak English, and we couldn't understand the translated menu, so we had to order from pictures. The sound of her cooking alone in the kitchen was heartwarming. As we left, I told her to stay healthy and that we'd be back for her soba again! ❤️
