Zhangye's Rainbow Danxia

The Rainbow Danxia scenic area is located within the boundaries of Linze and Sunan counties in Zhangye City, Gansu Province, covering a total area of 50 square kilometers. It has high tourism and geological research value. Zhangye's Rainbow Danxia is the most typical Danxia landform developed in the arid regions of northern China. It is the only area where Danxia landforms and colorful hills are highly integrated in China, featuring a vibrant palette, strong visual appeal, large scale, and a combination of majesty, danger, uniqueness, tranquility, and beauty. The Rainbow Danxia scenic area is a national 5A-level tourist attraction and a world geopark. It is one of 'China's Most Beautiful Seven Danxia', 'Bizarre and Beautiful as a Painting - China's Six Most Bizarre Landforms', and 'The World's Top Ten Magical Geographical Wonders'. It was selected as the top travel destination for the third World Presidents' Meeting in 2023.
