Onomichi Fishing Village

The port located in Onomichi City today was first established in 1168 as a hub for rice transportation and international trade. Although the port no longer sees as much activity as it once did, it remains a cultural center of the city. Every April, the Onomichi Minato Matsuri, or Port Festival, attracts many participants and celebrates the city's rich history with food stalls, parades, and dance competitions.
