Lizhuang, the first ancient town along the Yangtze River

◾️ Lizhuang Ancient Town is located in Lizhuangba, Cuiping District, Yibin City, Sichuan Province. It was founded during the Southern Dynasties' Liang period. The ancient town has a long history, spanning multiple historical dynasties, and has been in existence for over 1,400 years. It is a national-level historical and cultural famous town. ◾️ Lizhuang, originally a fishing village, had a post station during the Han Dynasty. Due to its proximity to the Yangtze River, it has always been a major water transport hub. Cargo ships from various places in southern Sichuan would dock and unload goods here, making it extremely busy. Therefore, Lizhuang Ancient Town is known as 'the first ancient town along the thousands of miles of the Yangtze River'. ◾️ During the difficult years of the war of resistance, Lizhuang silently took on the mission of guarding Chinese culture, earning the resounding title of 'China's Lizhuang'. During the day, Lizhuang is lively, filled with the smell of life. Walking through the streets and alleys, visiting the Nine Palaces and Eighteen Temples, cultural sites, and tasting the local specialties is both fulfilling and satisfying.
