Quanzhou Kaiyuan Temple

Quanzhou Kaiyuan Temple is located on West Street in Licheng District, Quanzhou, Fujian Province, China. It is an important cultural relic on the southeast coast of China and one of the largest Buddhist temples in Fujian Province. The temple was first built in the second year of the Chuigong period of the Tang Dynasty (686 AD) and was originally called "Lotus Dojo." It was later renamed "Xingjiao Temple" and then renamed "Kaiyuan Temple" in the 26th year of the Kaiyuan period of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty (738 AD). The temple has retained this name to this day. The temple is magnificent, with a rigorous structure and reasonable layout, and preserves a large number of precious historical and cultural relics. The most famous structures in Kaiyuan Temple are the East and West Twin Pagodas, the Zhen Guo Pagoda and the Ren Shou Pagoda. Both stone pagodas were built in the Song Dynasty and are about 40 meters high. They are important physical materials for studying ancient Chinese architectural art, sculpture art, and Buddhist culture.
