Make sure to visit the Altar of the Fatherland at sunset!

The Altar of the Fatherland is one of Rome's must-see attractions. After visiting it myself, I strongly recommend going there during sunset! The reason is that you can climb the stairs to a high vantage point and enjoy a breathtaking view of Rome's cityscape. The sunset light falling over the churches and the Colosseum is truly stunning. There's also a terrace café inside the Altar of the Fatherland where you can sip wine or coffee while taking in this view. So, make sure to go at sunset!
