The Russian Winter Palace is one of the palaces in the 'Six Palace Complex' of the Russian National Museum Hermitage Museum. The Hermitage Museum, along with the British Museum in London, the Louvre in Paris, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, is known as one of the four major museums in the world. The Far East Art Museum on the third floor of the museum houses a large number of Chinese artifacts, including more than 200 oracle bones from the Yin Shang Dynasty, rare silks and embroideries from the 1st century AD, samples of sculptures and murals from the Dunhuang Thousand Buddha Caves, Xixia artifacts unearthed from Heishuicheng, as well as Chinese porcelain, enamel, lacquerware, landscapes and paintings of ladies, etc.
