Nanjing cuisine in Shenzhen- Nanjing Dai Pai Dong

We visited a restaurant called Nanjing Dai Pai Dong which served casual dishes with Nanjing flavors. The decor was very much in the traditional Chinese design with wooden doors and lanterns. Even the waiters and waitresses’s uniform were in the clothing designs from the Qing dynasty. Dishes with duck were the house specialties and very popular as many dishes were made with duck - including roast duck, marinated duck served as a cold dish, duck meat dumplings, and rice with duck meat steamed in a bamboo container- which was my favorite! At lunch time, they even had singing performances on the little stage ( actually just next to my table!) Service was quick and attentive and the duck dishes were well made.
