Shijiazhuang's 'Ten Directions Courtyard'

Before 1994, Luquan City was known as Huolu County. In the west of the county town stands the imposing Weiyuan Gate, with its heavy eaves and nine ridges on a hip-and-gable roof. To the east of the gate flows the Taiping River, over which spans the Happiness Bridge. At the head of the bridge, a road leads directly south to the three-arched gate with yellow glazed tile roofs, resembling a traditional Chinese paifang. Next to the gate flutter two flags, one reading 'Harmony in Wind and Rain' and the other 'Nation's Peace and People's Security'. The gate's lintel is inscribed with three large characters: 'Ten Directions Courtyard'. This is a famous Taoist temple in Hebei Province.
