[Nagano] A temple with a long history: Suwa Taisha Shimosha Akimiya

#Spring0yenTrip Suwa Taisha Shimosha Akimiya is a historic shrine located in Shimo-Suwa, Nagano Prefecture, and is known as the Ichinomiya of Shinano Province. As you walk along the approach to the shrine, you will be greeted by large cedar trees standing on both sides, and one in particular, known as the "sacred tree," has a history of about 800 years and is overwhelming in its majesty. Within the shrine grounds, you will find the main hall, which is designated as an Important Cultural Property, and the Kagura Hall, which features impressive, large, powerful lion-dog statues. In addition, the Onbashira Festival is held in the spring, and the entire area is filled with energy. When you visit, be sure to get a goshuin and spend some time experiencing history and culture!
