Japan Travels: Our journey in Ueno Tokyo

#wheretogo Ueno is a must-visit spot for us during our Japan trip staying in Tokyo, it has the most beautiful park that we have ever walked and it’s natural scenery is one of our best moments together. We visited Ueno in the late afternoon after exploring Asakusa and it’s good to wander these 2 two areas in a single day because it’s close to each other. We visited Ueno park around 4pm, the sky is slowing setting down and a great time and weather to enjoy a breeze walk. The place is huge and surrounded by historical statues and there is shrine in the park, Ueno Toshogu Shrine which is very popular, we feast our eyes on its beautiful surrounding views. When the sky is dark and it’s dinner time, we went to Ameyoko shopping districts that is nearby the park to continue our journey. It has a lot of food stalls and clothes to look around. We went into a restaurant specialised in okonomiyaki and monjayaki, it was very good and we did a bit of cooking ourselves on the grill. Next, we went to a local yakitori store along the street, we were the only tourists and luckily I was able to read a bit of Japanese because the menu is all in Japanese, we ordered pork and chicken meat, it is served in skewer style and we love it a lot, we ate quite a few sticks and it’s affordable for its good quality! To end our food hunting, we went to a famous Japanese chain cafe known for their dessert, we got a creme brûlée and parfait because the photo looks so delicious and we tried them, it was really yummy and we really enjoyed it.
