Tulum

Tulum is an important site from the late Maya culture, located on the northeastern part of the Yucatan Peninsula, about 130 kilometers away from the famous resort of Cancun, perched on the cliffs along the Caribbean Sea. It was once a religious city in the late 14th century Maya culture, and today the site is well-preserved, with more than 60 stone buildings. The most famous is the Castillo, the great temple of the ancient city, standing more than 12 meters above the cliff.
