St Mark’s Square - Venice, Italy

Commonly also known as Piazza San Marco, is the main square located in the heart of Venice, Italy. It’s one of the most famous & visited attractions in the city, known for its stunning architecture & historical significance. The square is surrounded by several notable buildings including St. Mark’s Basilica, Doge’s Palace, and the Procuratie Vecchie and Nuove buildings. St Mark’s Square has played an important role in Venetian history & culture, which served as a gathering place for political rallies, religious festivals and cultural events. The square is also a famous location to get flooded when the tide gets high, which happened during my trip to Venice.
