Kumbum Monastery - A sacred place of Tibetan Buddhism

We chartered a car to Qinghai Lake and visited the Kumbum Monastery on the way. It rained heavily that day... The Kumbum Monastery was named after the tower that was built before the monastery. It is the center of Buddhism in Qinghai Province and the northwest region of China, and a sacred place of the Gelug sect. The main buildings are located on the hillside of the Lotus Mountain, covering an area of 450,000 square meters. The Kumbum Monastery, also known as Ta'er Monastery, is located in the city of Huangzhong District, Xining, the capital of Qinghai Province. It was established in the twelfth year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1379), and is a national AAAAA level tourist attraction.
