• My First Experience Trekking Through the Wild Mountains

Documenting my first wild mountain trek, from Xueshandong to Yuntaishan, covering about 6.5 kilometers with an elevation gain of over 700 meters, taking more than 5 hours. Before setting out, I thought it would be just a regular hike, but it turned out to be a real challenge right from the start. The path beneath my feet was rugged and unfamiliar, with steep slopes, constantly slipping dirt and rocks, and moments of physical exhaustion. It tested my endurance far more than I had imagined. Stepping on gravel and leaves, climbing steadily upward, sweat soaking my clothes, my heart racing until I was gasping for breath—every step was incredibly tough, yet every step was taken with firm determination. From cautious beginnings to gritting my teeth and pushing through, I stopped to catch my breath and drink water whenever my legs felt weak. Watching the backs of fellow hikers gradually disappear ahead, I was grateful for the expert hiking companion who abandoned the main group to stay by my side, offering constant support and encouragement. This companionship eased some of the fear in the wild mountains and quietly motivated me to “keep going a little further,” fueled by the inner resolve of “not wanting to give up halfway.” The plants along the way and the mountain breeze became the best company. When I finally stood on the open mountaintop, feeling the refreshing wind and overlooking the endless mountain ranges, all fatigue vanished. The meaning of perseverance is not just conquering a mountain trail but unlocking a tougher version of myself. The joy of overcoming obstacles and pushing limits, the sense of achievement in surpassing myself, is even more unforgettable than the view from the summit. The wild mountains never disappoint those who persist, and this experience of gritting my teeth and pushing through will become a warm and empowering memory to cherish in the days ahead.
