Yilan Literature Museum

#MarchGoodPlaces2025 Yilan Literature Museum; In 1925 (Taisho 14 in Japan), local people in Yilan requested the Taipei Prefecture to establish an agricultural and forestry school on the grounds that Yilan was a distribution center for agricultural products on the east coast, and that their children needed to go to school and cultivate agricultural and forestry talents to develop local industries. The request was approved. Yilan Agricultural and Forestry School was established in 1926 (Taisho 15 in Japan). This building was one of the Japanese-style dormitories built with the Yilan Office around 1906 (Meiji 39 in Japan). It was only after the establishment of the agricultural school that it was used as the principal's dormitory. This historic building was built in the early days of Japanese rule. It was one of the Japanese-style dormitories built along with the Yilan Office. It was adjacent to the Chief Executive's Residence and later became the principal's dormitory of the Yilan Agricultural and Forestry School. It is now preserved as part of a historical space regeneration project. Given its construction age, reuse value, and potential, it has preservation value.
