Visit Taierzhuang Ancient City

Taierzhuang Ancient City, located at the central point of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, boasts a long history and rich cultural heritage. It is known as 'the First Village under the Sky', a title bestowed by Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty. Not only is it a national 5A-level tourist attraction, but it is also acclaimed as 'the most beautiful water town in China'. The World Tourism Organization even refers to it as 'the living ancient canal' and 'the only remaining heritage village of the Beijing-Hangzhou Canal'. On the afternoon of May 1st, I took a taxi from the hotel and arrived at the east gate of Taierzhuang Ancient City after 4 pm (it's difficult to park near the scenic area). I bought the ticket in advance on Ctrip for half price, 59 yuan. Within the eight major scenic spots of Taierzhuang Ancient City, each has its unique charm and story. The eight architectural styles within the scenic area (Jin-style architecture, Lunan residential buildings, Hui-style architecture, water town architecture, Minnan architecture, European architecture, religious architecture, and Lingnan architecture) collectively reflect the blend of northern and southern cultures. The night view is also very beautiful. In short, it's definitely worth the visit (reminder: it's extremely crowded during holidays).
