A must-visit destination for a trip around Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai
🤩🤩🤩 The most successful trend-following trip ever!!! I didn't expect a 5A tourist spot to have free admission, and the vegetarian meal only costs 2 yuan! It's simply amazing! 🎉🎉🎉
👨🦲 The master himself farms the land, sowing in spring and harvesting in autumn, living a self-sufficient life. This place is also the ancestral home of the Tiantai sect of Japanese Buddhism. The atmosphere in the temple is very good, making people afraid to speak loudly, and can only quietly appreciate. 😍😍😍
There are many sights worth seeing in the temple, such as the farmland of Guoqing Temple and the ancient Sui Dynasty pagoda in the distance, the thousand-year-old Sui Mei tree that revives with the spring despite its age, the Qing Dynasty's 'Eternal Life' bronze incense burner, the Han white jade lion guarding the temple entrance, Wang Xizhi's authentic 'Goose' character, the thousand-year-old 'Fenggan Bridge' single-hole stone arch bridge, and the 'Ancient Sui Dynasty Temple' screen wall, etc. Each sight lets one feel the historical accumulation and cultural heritage. 🤩🤩🤩

Qishan Lake Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Qishan Lake Travel Guide
Qishan Lake, a beautiful large reservoir located in Lincheng County, Hebei Province, is an excellent place for tourists to experience natural scenery and cultural landscapes. Originally named Sanqi Reservoir, it has a total storage capacity of 170 million cubic meters and controls a catchment area of 384 square kilometers. It not only serves as a flood control reservoir but also supports irrigation, power generation, fish farming, and other multiple functions.
The construction of the reservoir began in August 1958, and after two years of hard work, the main project was completed in August 1960. From 1990 to 1991, the reservoir underwent reinforcement and danger removal, and the flood control standard was upgraded to withstand a flood that occurs once every hundred years for design and once every two thousand years for verification, providing tourists with a safer and more reliable visiting environment.
The Qishan Lake scenic area is equipped with complete engineering facilities, including a dam, water conveyance tunnels, flood discharge tunnels, spillways, and a power station. The dam, as a clay inclined wall dam, has a top width of 5.5 meters, a maximum dam height of 33 meters, and a total length of 1428 meters. Standing on the top of the dam, one can enjoy the magnificent view of the rippling blue waves of the lake.
The circular pressure water conveyance tunnel is located at the north end of the dam, with a diameter of 1.8 meters, allowing tourists to closely feel the magical scene of water flowing through the tunnel. The two rectangular pressurized bottom discharge tunnels are located at the south end of the dam, with dimensions of 3 meters by 2.5 meters, and a maximum discharge capacity of 252 cubic meters per second. When discharging floodwaters, the water is turbulent and heart-shaking.
The three spillways are a major highlight of Qishan Lake. The first spillway is located on the right side of the dam and is an open non-vacuum practical weir with a maximum discharge capacity of 3015 cubic meters per second, with roaring water and an imposing momentum. The second and third spillways are located to the right of the first spillway, both are open broad-crested weirs, with maximum discharge capacities of 1623 cubic meters per second and 916 cubic meters per second, respectively, forming one of the most spectacular sights of Qishan Lake.
In addition, the power station located behind the water conveyance tunnel at the north end of the dam is also a place not to be missed by tourists. The power station has 3 units with a total capacity of 500 kilowatts, and the maximum annual power generation is 710,000 kilowatt-hours. This place is not only for power generation but also a good place to understand the principles of hydraulic engineering.
Puli Pagoda Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Puli Pagoda, a masterpiece of the Northern Song Dynasty
❤️ Puli Pagoda, also known as Wanfo Pagoda and Lincheng County Relic Pagoda, was built in the third year of Emperor Huangyou of the Northern Song Dynasty (1051), although it was repaired during the Jiajing and Wanli periods of the Ming Dynasty, it basically retains its original appearance. Puli Temple was abandoned during the Republic of China, and only the pagoda remains, which is also one of the few square brick pagodas of the Northern Song Dynasty in China that imitates the style of a wooden structure.
❤️ Square pagodas were common in the Tang Dynasty, while eave-style pagodas were popular in the Liao and Jin Dynasties. This pagoda can be considered an invention and creation of the Song people. The uniqueness of the Puli Pagoda lies not only in its rare eave-style square pagoda in the Song Dynasty, but also in its varied dougong (bracket set). The pagoda has eight layers of dougong, each changing in layout and style, with a lot of technical elements, and it's rare to see such freedom.
❤️ The reason why Puli Pagoda is called Wanfo Pagoda is because the four sides of the first floor are full of small Buddha statues, a total of 947, plus 42 on the inner wall, 16 Arhat statues on the second floor, 8 iron Buddha statues on the pagoda, and 1 stone Buddha in the heart of the pagoda, a total of 1041. The first floor is densely packed with small Buddhas, which is quite impressive, but most of them have been destroyed. The style of Puli Pagoda is not common in ancient times, and it is a miracle that it has been preserved to this day.
👉 In 1959, Puli Pagoda was struck by lightning, and the top of the pagoda tilted slightly to the east.
👉 In 1966, it suffered a major earthquake and man-made damage, leaving Puli Pagoda scarred.
👉 Small repairs were organized in 1980 and 1981.
👉 In 1991, the stone wall of the pagoda platform on the east side was destroyed by heavy rain.
👉 In 2001, Puli Pagoda was listed as a key national cultural relic protection unit as an ancient building from the Northern Song Dynasty.
👉 On December 1, 2006, Puli Pagoda was completely repaired.
❤️ There are several stone statues under Puli Temple. Locals say there is an ancient tomb from the Ming Dynasty nearby, and the stone statues may be even older. Among the stone statues, two stone tigers are vividly carved, looking a bit like the image of Toothless in 'How to Train Your Dragon', while the civil official next to it is heavy, with a hunched neck and a burly body, conveying a sense of a heavy minister of the country, which is rare in other stone carvings.
❤️ Over the past thousand years, only one pagoda remains in Puli Temple, but there are many more temples that have left nothing and disappeared in history.
