Mijas Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Wyndham Residences Costa del Sol Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
awesome Family Hotel
what a great place.
first off, it’s huge. there are 4 or 5 different areas to this complex which all have different pools, bars and restaurants.
the little train around the complex is a life saver.
The hotel is a close 10 min car rig to Mijas centre and to Mijas costa.
The beaches are lovely at both towns with Mijas being much livelier in the evening.
great times for the family and I would definitely recommend. for a family vacation for relaxing and keeping the kids busy I couldn’t be happier with this place.
Fuengirola Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Mijas Costa (without the coffee)
Love to walk? Love nature and getting lost in the wilderness without having the fear of never being found! Mijas Costa and the surrounding areas are an absolute joy of walking and trekking routes. Starting off in the town of Mijas Pueblo, you have 5 different routes to take, each giving you a different difficulty. Each will give you though such beautiful views over the costal area of southern Andalucia, including towns of Benalmadena, Fuengirola, and even reaching as far as Marbella and if your lucky enough to get a clear day you will most likely see some mountains in Africa (Morocco to be precise) always remembering you are within walking distance of a refreshing beverage at the end of your trek certainly makes it all the more worthwhile in the end.

Villa Panorama Mijas Pueblo Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Placa de Toros in Mijas Pueblo
Even though it’s nowadays considered unacceptable and too cruel, the bullfighting is undeniably an important part of the Spanish history. The country is full of mostly discontinued bullfight arenas.
Mijas is no different. The bullfight arena of Mijas was built in 1900 and is located in the center of Mijas Pueblo just next to the local church in the hills of the coastal mountains at an altitude of 430 meters above the sea level. The arena is nowadays a museum and the entrance is via the souvenir shop in the building. Tickets are fairly cheap and only cost 3 euros per person.
Inside the building it’s easy to feel the old times. It’s easy to imagine the arena full of people and the noisy bullfight.
I recommend you to visit Mijas Pueblo if you’re visiting Costa del Sol area in Spain. You can access Mijas Pueblo from Fuengirola by car or taxi in about 15 minutes. It’s also conveniently located near the highway AP-7. There’s a big public parking at the center which I recommend you to use. Otherwise finding a parking is very difficult.

Mijas Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Mijas, Spain
1.
Address - Ermita de lá Virgem de lá Pena
Highlights - this church is literally built inside of a big boulder and is next to a Mirador which has the best views of sea and looking towards the Costa del Sol
Rating - 4.5/5
2.
Address - Plaza or Mirador around the Oficina de Turismo
Highlights - this is a donkey for photos as the town is all about donkeys and near it is actually a donkey stable and has views of Mijas on the mirador
Rating - 4/5
3.
Address - Miradors near the Happiness Lab Cafe
Highlights - there are some more miradors with amazing views near that gelato place and the gelatos are some of the best I've had in the Andalusia region. But the best gelato is still in Coimbra, Portugal 😉.

Spanish candied almonds
Caramelized / candied Almonds (Garrapiñadas) are a popular local specialty that is available in Andalusia in Spain.
Actually basically same way of preparing almonds can be found from some other countries in Europe (Switzerland, Germany, Nordic Counties) but to me it only feels local food in Spain and especially in Costa del Sol.
There are stalls everywhere from where you can buy thse delicacies and the price is usually only a few euros per packet. Sometimes they also sell sunflower seeds or peanuts that have been made in the same way.
For me, I sometimes want them so much that I end up buying a box from a stall (mainly for tourists) I just love them.
So if you’re traveling in Spain just try them. I believe you won’t be disappointed.

This is a famous Arabian-style tourist town, in the white Mijas Valley, and feel the pure Mediterranean style, the town of Mijas. There are many towns like
Western Portugal, they are very quiet and beautiful, and the commercial atmosphere is also weak. You just need to walk in different lanes and experience the beauty of it.
