This trip, we stayed at the Victoria Inn Penang. It was a good value, located near the pier, making it easy to walk around. Day 1 We arrived in Penang at 5:00 PM. We started by walking around Kimberly Street Food. We chose Char Kway Teow. I personally loved this dish. I felt good from the first meal. It was so delicious. I want to go back again. Let's move on. ~~ My friend invited me to eat rice with curry, which was recommended as a local dish. I just pointed at random places. He asked me everything, but it was delicious. 5555. We ended the day by visiting a dessert shop. Day 2 This morning, we went to Tai Tong for dim sum. There was one thing I couldn't quite get enough of: the congee. But everything else was delicious. After eating at this place, we walked to the cafe I'd been eyeing since the night before, OFFFFive COFFEE. We called a Grab to Gurney Bay. When we arrived, there was no one there. Because it was early in the morning and the sun was very hot, this place was beautiful and peaceful. We stayed here for a long time, despite the hot sun. We walked around and found Gurney Plaza. Before checking out, we stopped to buy some cookie crumbs. We left our bags at the hotel and continued our journey. ~~ We had 2 hours left before heading back. 🎈Joja Bagels was crowded, so we chose takeout, so we didn't have to wait long. 🎈Norm Cafe: The menu I had was probably the Gray Tae Cola. #September Good Places 2025 Many people visit Penang and go to Dochun Tea Room to enjoy a piece of charcoal toasted bread. The author is no exception. Almost every time I visit Penang, I always visit him. This trip of just a few days, I also came twice, had breakfast and lunch respectively. A brief introduction to Dochun, this is the local historic tea room, the old shop hidden in the alley next to the new street square, is the iron house shop, so hot hihi, mainly to eat flavor. In recent years, however, Dochun has opened a branch, the new store entered the store, there is air conditioning, and there are more food options than the main store, these two times I went to help the new store, much more comfortable. This brand is most famous for its charcoal grilled toast with curry sauce and butter. This time, I ordered both the curry and the chocolate toast, served with a half-cooked egg, and added my own soy sauce and pepper. It was equally delicious and classic. Another order came with wonton noodles, to stir-fry noodles. The noodles were refreshing, and most importantly, there was no annoying alkaline taste. The wontons were just pork filling, small fillings, but the skin was thin and tasted normal. The char siu doesn't look like Hong Kong products, but at least it's full of meat flavour. The green chili next to it, sour and slightly spicy, and quite refreshing. Here are Penang's famous fish head rice noodles, with fried fish head as the main character, a few fish balls, with fine rice flour and rich fish bones boiled soup, the soup with natural freshness, and slightly milky, old mother expressed satisfaction. Coming to the hot to juice Penang, often I have given up hot coffee and latte, to a cup of cold coffee, or orange water. Penang is known as the Pearl of the Orient because of its beautiful townscape and diverse traditional culture. Georgetown is a World Heritage Site. We visited Penang and absolutely loved it. Day 1 📍Flying from Don Mueang Airport to Penang International Airport, flight 10:50 AM - 1:35 PM 📍Checked in to the hotel, dropped off our luggage, and freshened up a bit before heading out for a walk. 📍After arriving, we were very hungry, so we started at Toktok Mee Bamboo Noodle. I must say this restaurant is incredibly delicious. The first bite was delicious without a second thought. The noodles were amazing, the aroma was just right, and the soup was delicious. They usually make the noodles right there, but we arrived almost evening, so we missed it. 📍After we ate, we strolled down Armenian Street, a street decorated with colorful umbrellas. It was quite crowded, and they even had a vintage car for rent. 📍Walking a bit further, we reached Penang Street Art. There were several murals for photos, but the most popular spot was the bike ride. There were a lot of people waiting in line to take photos. 📍The sun was perfect, but it wasn't too hot. We continued walking to Chew Jetty, a fishing village jutting out into the sea. Walk all the way to the mainland and you'll see the mainland side. They close around 5 PM, so pack up early. If you're going, 3-4 PM is the best time. 📍The sun was setting, so I strolled around the city and went to Chulia Night Market for some food. All the food looked delicious, but the best was the lok lok. It was so delicious. You can eat it standing up in front of the shop or take it home in a box. It was so atmospheric. ~~ The first day ended, and I went back to the hotel to rest and recharge. Day 2 📍We woke up at 5 AM with my friends and got ready to go up Penang Hill. It was early in the morning when there weren't many people, the sun wasn't too hot, and the weather was cool. 📍After getting off Penang Hill, we called a Grab to Kek Lok Si Temple, which was only about 10 minutes away. When we arrived at the temple, we bought tickets. They'll give you tickets to see several levels, but we only visited the second level. The temple is huge and beautiful. 📍At noon, we started to get hungry, so we went to Fu Er Dai for some dim sum. 📍We went back to the hotel to rest a bit and change clothes. 📍We took the bus around the city and ended up at Gurney Plaza for IIaoIIao, a yogurt-based ice cream. The sourness contrasts with the sweetness of the toppings, which is delicious. I strolled around the mall and browsed the shops. 📍Find an early dinner at Midlane Night Market. There's a huge variety of food here. I recommend the satay, sold by a Thai lady. It's incredibly delicious. 📍Before heading back to the hotel, stop by to take a photo at The George. Day 3 📍Woke up early and went for another dim sum meal at Leong Kee Tim Sum. I didn't plan on going there, but the place I was going to was crowded. There was one right next door, so I decided to give it a try. It was absolutely delicious. It started to rain a little this morning. 📍After heading back to the hotel and packing, we bought some chocolates as souvenirs at Beryl's. The chocolates were so delicious, I regretted not buying much for myself. I recommend buying them from the shops in Georgetown, as we had some to buy at the airport, but the airport has very few items and they're also more expensive. Before heading to the airport, we stopped for lunch at Sanguo Cafe, a Thai restaurant that looked delicious. For the cakes, we ordered the Key Lime Pie, Burnt Cheesecake, and Churros with Chocolate Dip & Cinnamon. This was our favorite! It was the most delicious cheesecake we've ever had. Originally focused on wholesale and occasional sales, it later added tables and chairs for customers to enjoy their meals. Finally, it transitioned to a small cafeteria offering exclusive Nyonya Kuehs, along with food and beverages. Entering the Bo Ding Biao factory, you'll first pass through the kitchen, where you'll see several ovens lined up. To the left, someone is slicing Nyonya Kuehs. It's a first for me to see a large plate of Nyonya Kueh being sliced open like this. Inside, inside the retro building, there's an order counter displaying a variety of Nyonya Kuehs, clearly labeled with their names and prices. The Kuehs here melt in your mouth and have just the right amount of flavor, making them incredibly delicious. The Pulut Inti coconut ribbons have a salty-sweet flavor, imbued with a distinct coconut sugar aroma. The purple Kuih Bengka has a chewy texture and is soft and fluffy. If you don't like sweets, you can order Nasi Lemak. The rice grains in the Nasi Lemak here are distinct and have a light coconut flavor, paired with Asam shrimp and fish. And the incredibly spicy Sambal is a real home-style flavor. Penang Laksa is also excellent.
