This is the Ryukyu mura, a traditional Okinawan village located in Okinawa~ It takes approximately an 80 minute bus ride from Naha to reach there. Of course driving will be much more convenient🫣 It is a theme park where you can enjoy handicrafts, learn how to play a traditional instrument called the sanshin guitar. There are also traditional performances which are fun and interesting to watch! It’s definitely worth a visit~
I wish I can learn more of the different traditional cultures in Japan~

#okinawatrip A wonderful place to visit if are interested in the Okinawan culture. Not only can you see the traditional constructions and crafting, but also enjoy the local music, food and dances. Information is clear and staff is very friendly. Worth every single yen you pay for it. Totally recommended! This was a fun place to go. The tour was fun. If you have some time to kill it’s a nice stop for a touristy thing to do. They have a nice butterfly house too! Guide was very knowledgeable and made it fun.

As soon as I walked into the Ryukyu Village, I felt as if I had crossed the ancient days of Japan, and the performance staff wore traditional costumes and headwear. The area around
Ryukyu is very clean and the greenery is quite good.
There are 10 houses in the village that are more than 100 years old and form a national registered tangible cultural heritage village. Among them, Zhongzonggenjia and Dachengs houses have been 205 years old, and there is a very atmosphere of antique villages. There are a lot of performances in the Ryukyu Village, but I am particularly interested in the old grandfather who plays the third line. The three lines really only have three lines, but they can play songs full of Japanese flavors, and the Japanese grandfather is also very dedicated. Although there is no indoor room without air conditioning in the hot summer, he still wears long sleeves and thick traditional clothes. Do not change color, play for us leisurely. When I was traveling to Tokyo, Japan, I was touched by the Japanese people's professionalism many times. This time is no exception.
In addition to watching performances, there are also Ryukyu traditional costumes for rent in Ryukyu Village. If time permits, it is sure to rent a set of clothes for a photo! If you want to buy a gift, you can consider Ryukyu Village black sugar. Black sugar is made from Okinawa's famous sugar cane. It is rich in natural minerals and nutrients. It has a slightly bitter taste in sweetness.
