👑 Durian Royalty at Brother Durian SS2 – A Feast Fit for a King 🌰
Brother Durian, also known as 榴哥, is one of the more well-established names in SS2’s famous durian strip—and for good reason. With its bright signage, clean seating area, and organized display of fruits, the place gives off a sense of professionalism and trust that’s sometimes hard to find in roadside durian stalls.
We visited during peak durian season, and the selection was impressive—from Musang King (Mao Shan Wang) to XO, Black Thorn, and even D101. Prices were clearly listed, and the staff were helpful in recommending the right durian based on our preferences—whether we wanted something bitter, creamy, or sweet.
We went for the Musang King, and the fruit was spot-on:
• Texture: Thick, creamy, and smooth
• Taste: Balanced between sweet and bitter, rich but not overwhelming
• Seeds: Mostly small with plenty of flesh
The best part? No gimmicks, no fuss, just honest service. The seller cracked open the fruit in front of us, ensured the quality met expectations, and even offered to swap if it didn’t meet the mark. The seating area was clean, shaded, and comfortable, and drinks were available for purchase to wash down the richness of the durian.
⸻
Final Verdict
Brother Durian (榴哥) offers a reliable, no-nonsense durian experience in SS2 with quality fruits, honest pricing, and friendly service. Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned durian fan, this spot delivers.

👑 Durian Done Right: Premium Musang King at Durian Hill SS2 🌰
On our hunt for the best durian in SS2, we decided to give Durian Hill a try—and we’re glad we did. It was a spontaneous decision after dinner, and while there weren’t many durians left, that only meant one thing: business must’ve been booming.
We went with a Musang King (MSW) from Pahang, priced at RM58 per kg. Though not cheap, it was well worth the splurge for two people. The fruit was handpicked by the seller, and they chose well—creamy flesh, small seeds, and a rich, full-bodied flavor that hit the spot perfectly.
The sellers were friendly, polite, and sincerely grateful, which added to the warmth of the experience. The environment was clean and well-kept, with proper seating and even a washroom available—a big plus when you’re enjoying durian in comfort.
⸻
Final Verdict
Durian Hill SS2 offers premium durian in a clean, welcoming setting, paired with genuine service. If you’re craving a top-quality MSW experience, this spot delivers.

🌰 Durian Dreams Delivered: A Musang King Feast at DKing SS2 👑
SS2 in Petaling Jaya is well-known as a durian lover’s paradise, and DKing stands out as one of the more well-organized and inviting spots among the cluster of durian sellers in the area.
The atmosphere is lively, with multiple durian stalls and photo-worthy setups that make for a fun and unique experience. If you’ve never taken a selfie with a mountain of thorny fruit, this is your chance!
During our visit, we decided to go straight for the coveted Musang King—a must when you’re in Malaysia. The price was about SGD 20 per kilo, which isn’t dramatically cheaper than Singapore but still fair, considering the quality. The staff was helpful and honest, assisting us in selecting a good fruit based on our taste preferences.
🥭 The Durian:
• Taste: Rich, but not overpowering. Not overly sweet, which we appreciated.
• Texture: Slightly dry and creamy—exactly how I like it.
• Seeds: Small, which meant more flesh. Always a win.
We appreciated the clean and comfortable dining setup, with tables and chairs available for on-the-spot feasting. Drinks were sold separately, so it’s worth noting if you’re planning to wash it down with something cold.
⸻
Final Verdict
DKing SS2 is a durian experience done right—clean, organized, and satisfying. While prices aren’t dirt-cheap, the quality and service make it worth it for any durian lover.

Hunan Cuisine
#springitinerary
Hunan cuisine in spring bursts with bold flavors and fresh, seasonal ingredients. Known for its spicy, sour, and aromatic profile, spring dishes highlight tender bamboo shoots, wild herbs, and fresh river fish. Stir-fried, braised, or steamed, these ingredients are often paired with chili peppers, garlic, and fermented sauces that define Hunan’s fiery character. Popular spring dishes include spicy stir-fried bamboo shoots, steamed fish with pickled chili, and smoked pork with spring greens. The cuisine balances heat with the freshness of the season, creating vibrant, invigorating meals that reflect the region’s dynamic palate and celebrate spring’s renewal.

Sarawakian themed noodles eatery in SS2
#celebrateit
I have come to this eatery Noodle Art in SS2 many times over recent few years when I craved for a taste of Sarawak.
Most of the items here are Sarawak-themed, like fried vermicelli with sayur manis, which is also my biggest favorite. Not many places serve it, don’t know why.
Their Fried Kolo Mee was a crispy twist, but I would like a bit more ingredients instead of carbs to make it a healthier meal.
I’d return, but probably stick to the former.

An upstairs cafe in the heart of SS2 with bright atmosphere
#celebrateit
A coffee house open on the second floor in SS2.
It used to have great promotions on Sipjoy, which costed like less than RM9 for a cup of really good coffee. But without it, it’s well worth it too.
The ambience is warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxed coffee break or catching up with friends. I loved how they serve drinks in beautiful ceramic cups.
I also tried their ebimayo sandwich—super flavorful and well-prepared. It’s definitely a spot I’d return to for good coffee and a chill atmosphere!

The newly announced World #9 Coffee Shop in 2025

📍ONO Specialty Coffee & Matcha
Have been to this cafe a few times before this. But last week this place was announced to be the best 9th coffee place in one of the rankings, so my bestie wanted to try it out.
It turned out that it’s exactly like before: their house signature matcha+espresso drink (when two worlds collide) is creative and tastes good especially with the carbonation.
But pasta/sandwiches are seriously low in value. Most of them are close to/above RM30, but what you get is small quantity. I personally found the flavor/texture combination lacking as well.
Matcha tiramisu actually tastes very fragrant and intense. But too watery with the lady finger biscuit. The whole thing lacked some sorta integrity. Again, it’s a textural variation issue they can improve.

Taman Hati – A Heartfelt Experience
#malaysiatrip
During my trip, I stumbled upon a cozy little spot called Taman Hati Cafe, tucked away upstairs in a charming location. The café is Muslim-friendly, which makes it accessible to everyone looking for a peaceful break.
What makes this place truly special is its ambiance. It’s filled with greenery and thoughtful decor, giving off a warm and inviting vibe. Plus, they have three adorable cats who call this café their home, making the experience all the more comforting if you’re a cat lover like me.
The menu here offers a variety of treats, and I couldn’t resist their freshly made cakes paired with a soothing cup of tea. If you’re ever in the area, I highly recommend stopping by for a relaxing time!

A Perfect Lunch Spot at Sunyay Bakehouse
#malaysiatrip
During my Malaysia trip, I had the chance to enjoy a lovely lunch at Sunyay Bakehouse, and it was such a delightful experience. I ordered their chicken ham aglio olio spaghetti, which was beautifully prepared with just the right touch of garlic and olive oil. The chicken ham added a delicious savory element, making it a satisfying meal.
To accompany the spaghetti, I had their honey lemon drink—a refreshing and zesty addition that was perfect for the sunny afternoon.
The bakehouse itself has a clean and modern design, with plenty of natural light streaming in through the large windows. It’s an ideal place to relax and enjoy a peaceful meal. If you’re ever in the area, make sure to stop by for a delightful dining experience!

Staying in
Staying in KL was a fantastic experience. The hotel offered comfortable rooms and exceptional service. The culinary scene was a highlight, featuring fresh seafood dishes, including a delectable fish soup that was both flavorful and satisfying. Highly recommended.
Exploring the city was equally enjoyable, with its vibrant markets, modern shopping centers, and rich cultural sites. The hospitality and friendliness of the locals added to the charm. Overall, KL provides a perfect blend of comfort, adventure, and culinary delight.

Kuala Lump
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia 060 324 (1) #ss2 The first day of coming to Kuala Lumpur Monday The first night, because I couldn't wait for Grab😤 in the old Gu Zai (Gu Zai Street) I couldn't wait for Grab😤
The third day early in the morning take Garb to SS2 morning market, actually not too big place, but Lin Lin all kinds of life needs food and drinks and daily necessities everything!
I have always enjoyed walking to visit the local market places, very exciting, there are many unseen products in Hong Kong I will take pictures. In fact, after going to Kuala Lumpur for a few days, I think the best food is the food from Tai Pai Dang and street cart stalls, especially spicy dead your mother (coconut sauce chicken rice 🥥🐔)!
