Today, I recommend Werribee Open Range Zoo in Australia, which is a 40-minute drive from downtown Melbourne, close to Geelong, and on the way to the Great Ocean Road. Both adults and children love it. 🏷️Zoo full name: Werribee Open Range Zoo 🏷️Park The ticket includes a sightseeing bus in the park, and you can see a large grassland with giraffes, camels, antelopes, ostriches, rhinos, etc. grazing when you take the bus in, pretending to be on the African savannah. I was most excited to see giraffes 🦒 and zebras 🦓 because they are the most photogenic and have a sense of being in a cartoon. Cool close encounters with some of the most popular animals. Zoo personnel possess exceptional animal knowledge and are delighted to answer inquiries. Daily keeper talks are on the agenda, and visitors can explore the zoo while attending these talks, which were educational and focused extensively on the zoo’s conservation initiatives. The zoo safari was a standout experience. Animal interactions are not guaranteed as the zoo prioritizes natural behavior and the freedom of animals to choose where they graze and socialize. Nevertheless, during our visit, we observed several animals right beside our bus. There are complimentary water stations scattered throughout the park, so remember to bring a reusable bottle for refills. The cafeteria offers a variety of standard fare, and a coffee kiosk is also available for quick caffeine fixes. As soon as we got off the plane, we went straight to the car rental counter to pick up our travel companion's spacious and comfortable SUV. Self-driving not only allows flexible itinerary arrangements, but also makes our family of four's journey more relaxed and comfortable. After checking in at Artel Apartment Hotel, we decided to set off lightly and head to the long-awaited LEGOLAND Discovery Centre. This indoor park located in Chadstone Shopping Center is a paradise for children and a warehouse of childhood memories for adults. As soon as we walked in, we were immediately attracted by the colorful world of Lego blocks, and the children were so excited that they almost jumped up. From the mini Melbourne city model, to the interactive game area, to the exciting 4D Lego movie, every corner is full of laughter and surprises. After we were tired from shopping, we had dinner and shopping in Chadstone. This largest shopping mall in the Southern Hemisphere not only has a wide selection of food and drink, but also is extremely convenient for eating and drinking. While enjoying dinner, we recalled the excitement of Legoland, and our Melbourne trip started warmly. 🐾Day 2｜Sleep until you wake up naturally and get in close contact with wild animals The first night of the trip is always particularly tiring. Today we decided not to set an alarm clock and wake up naturally to welcome the new day. The well-slept children were full of energy. We drove to Werribee Open Range Zoo, a wildlife park modeled after the African grasslands, located in the west of Melbourne. The most anticipated experience in the park is the experience of taking the Safari off-road bus. We sat in an open sightseeing car and crossed the open grassland, seeing giraffes strolling gracefully and zebras grazing leisurely. When the rhino caught up with our car, the whole car exclaimed again and again. The feeling of both nervousness and excitement became the most unforgettable memory of the day. This historic train route passes through the Dandenong Ranges and is a well-known nostalgic journey for locals. We sat in an open carriage, and the children hung their feet out of the window (this is one of the features). Along the way, the trees were surrounded and the birds chirped, as if returning to an innocent age. After lunch, we drove to Brighton Beach to visit the famous Bathing Boxes. These colorful cabins are one of Melbourne's landmarks. Each one has a different design and story, and is a great spot for taking photos and checking in. The children were playing with sand castles on the beach, while the adults were enjoying the afternoon tranquility in the sea breeze. In the evening, we drove to Phillip Island to watch the famous Penguin Parade. As the sky darkened, little blue penguins staggered ashore from the waves, looking very cute. The children watched intently, and such a natural wonder was really worth the price. ✈️Day 4｜A journey to calm down, returning to Sydney with full memories On the morning of the last day, we had a simple breakfast in the hotel and started to pack our luggage. Although the journey was short, it was full of memories. We went to the airport early, checked in smoothly after returning the car, and spent the rest of the time in the airport to eat something leisurely and visit the duty-free shop, leaving the end of the journey to relaxation and peace. Watching the plane slowly take off, Melbourne outside the window gradually went away, and my heart was full of reluctance. This four-day, three-night parent-child trip not only allowed us to see the dual faces of Australia's nature and cities, but also made the family closer. The gorillas are quite entertaining and humorous, while the rhinos are surprisingly hygienic, traveling miles away for their restroom needs. The animals are quite dedicated, except for the leopards who prefer to observe from the shadows rather than participate actively.

The Werribee Open Range Zoo in Melbourne has recently welcomed an adorable baby rhino. This little one is a southern white rhino, a species that is endangered globally, and weighed a hefty 60 kilograms at birth. The baby rhino was born in the early hours of August 18th to its 11-year-old mother, Kipenzi, after a 16-month pregnancy. The father, Kifaru, is a 15-year-old 'veteran dad.' The birth is a significant event for the zoo, especially after previous challenges in breeding rhinos, including the unfortunate loss of a calf last year due to maternal bonding issues. However, this time, Kipenzi is showing exceptional care and affection for her newborn. The staff have noted that the baby is nursing well, which is crucial for its health and signifies a strong bond between mother and calf. Currently, the mother and baby are enjoying a quiet bonding time in a secluded area of the zoo, not yet open to the public, with staff closely monitoring their progress. The gentle breeze brings the salty smell of the sea and makes me feel the call of the sea. Walking along the beach, I saw fishing boats swaying on the water, like leisurely painters, depicting the beauty of the coast. 🐟I especially like to sit on the rocks on the beach and watch the sunset quietly. The sunset is like a golden fireball, slowly sinking into the sea level, dyeing the entire sky orange, making people feel infinite romance. . Campbell's Cove is an ideal place to escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy nature. #September2024 I recently went to Werribee Open Range Zoo. In addition to seeing all kinds of cute animals, what surprised me most was the restaurant in the zoo! I didn't have high expectations for the food at the zoo at first, but the food here really exceeded my expectations. The restaurant offers a wide range of choices, from fresh salads to exquisite hot dishes, the ingredients are fresh and the taste is very good. I particularly like their pizza and fries, the portions are generous. Paired with the fresh juice of the day, the whole dining experience was unexpectedly satisfying. The restaurant environment is also very comfortable. It is a good choice whether for rest or replenishing energy. #Furitabee Werribee Zoo is an easy place to get to from Melbourne, about an hour by train. The highlight here is the safari tour! As we rode the bus around the vast savanna, I was really excited when I saw giraffes, rhinos, and zebras right next to us. I was so excited to see the animals relaxing up close, camera in hand! It's a wonderful place where you can forget the hustle and bustle of the city and feel like you're on a little adventure. Tickets can be purchased on the day without making a reservation. You do have to line up for the safari tour, but there are many schedules, so you don't have to wait too long even on weekends!

The zoo is very large and has many kinds of animals. You can spend most of the day there. The admission fee is cheap and it takes about an hour from the center of Melbourne. You can watch various wild animals up close. It is definitely worth a visit!

People who like zoos tend to go to the city center when they come to Melbourne. It's close, but if you only look at the zoo, there's a much better zoo near Melbourne. If you go to Werribee Zoo, which is 1 to 1.5 hours away from downtown Melbourne, you can take a safari tour that lasts about 40 minutes and walk around to see kangaroos up close.
