Taierzhuang Ancient City Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
It's as if a switch has been flipped to shuttle through the years
The ancient city of Tai'erzhuang at night is really too Tang Dynasty style🏮
The ancient city was rebuilt in 2008, and over 85% of the buildings and streets have been restored to the old city's appearance.
Walking into this 'water town of the north', with its meandering merchants, songs heard for miles, a night market that never ends, and throngs of tourists,
Especially around dusk, with clustered colorful lights, a river of fishing fires, and lanterns hanging high, it presents a scene of bustling prosperity.
🏮Night Tour Tips🏮
🔴A performance not to be missed—'Fire Dragon Steel Flower' intangible cultural heritage iron flower performance
🔺The intangible cultural heritage iron flower is a Chinese-style romantic firework, with a visual effect of 'the Milky Way falling from the sky'.
The iron flower artists strike the iron juice heated to over a thousand degrees onto the shed frame, and the night is instantly illuminated by the radiating fireworks, with meteors pouring down, dazzlingly beautiful.
🔺The performance time and location will be adjusted according to special holidays, and details are subject to the announcements made by the 'Tai'erzhuang Ancient City'👸 account.
Be sure to follow closely, otherwise, you will end up like me, waiting foolishly at the previous performance site half an hour in advance, only to find out near the start that the performance location has been changed for the National Day holiday... Rushing over, it was already crowded... and even finding a place to stand was difficult😂
🔴A different perspective of the ancient city—Take a sculling boat ride
🔺See the ancient city from a different angle, feel the charm of 'a boat, a scull, a beauty; a city, a river, a dreamland', and experience the unique charm of the water town of the north.
🔺Travel through the ancient city's water streets and alleys by boat, with moving ballads that linger in the heart and soul.
🔴Hanfu transformation—Immersive experience of the fun of crossing through a Chinese-themed amusement park
🔺Strolling through the ancient city, you can see Hanfu-clad ladies with exquisite makeup everywhere, paired with the antique environment, it truly gives an immediate sense of time travel.

In Shandong, there is a treasure of a small city🏙️
Bridging Shandong and Jiangsu,
With the thousand-year-old Grand Canal witnessing its changes,
And the hundred-year-old Zhongxing Coal Mine witnessing its glory.
~
There is no shortage of ancient towns in China, but this one is different
Taierzhuang not only has natural scenery
But more importantly, it has historical significance~~

📍Tour route: There are many performances inside the ancient city, mainly concentrated on Saturday afternoons, evenings, and Sunday mornings. While watching various performances, you will visit the main attractions of the ancient city. Different routes can be taken to get to each performance.

⌛️Sunday
10:00 Qianlong's Tour of Taierzhuang (West Gate - Tianhou Palace - Dayamen Street - West Gate)
📝Note: (Performances are not only on weekends!)
1. There is some interaction between the Grand Canal Old Street performance and the Quyi Meeting;
2. After the Fire Dragon Steel Flower, you can take a boat to the East Gate to watch the Welcoming Show or Water Moon·Chant. The Welcoming Show's light show is more about the 1938 war, different from the West Gate Projection Show, and I personally prefer the West Gate.
3. The Fire Dragon Steel Flower (Iron Flower) is very crowded, if you want a better spot you have to give up the Boat-shaped Street Light Show. A better viewing spot would be the small path between Huajiantang·Huaishe and Taizhou Island, which is less crowded.
4. If you want to watch Jianghu variety shows, you can watch them at 14:00 or 17:00 at Tianqi Temple Stage.
📌Scenic spot tips: Little North Gate → Taishan Xinggong → Fire Brigade → Mosque → Bodhi Temple → Grand Canal Grain Warehouse Museum → Taierzhuang Battle Site Park → Jin Ping Mei Culture Exhibition Hall → Catholic Church → Boat-shaped Street → Tianhou Palace → Fuxing Building
⚠️Travel Tips
▪️The ancient city is busier on Saturdays, watch the night scene on Saturday night, and stroll around the ancient city and take photos on Sunday morning.
▪️Zaozhuang's districts are scattered, self-driving is the most convenient, but BRT has basically been connected. The urban area has Xuecheng District (New City) and Shizhong District (Old City), distributed in a triangle with Taierzhuang.
▪️Zaozhuang has two museums, it's enough to visit the West Museum, and the landmark Gemini is right opposite. From Beixin Culture to Zhongxing Coal Mine, thousands of years help us understand this historic city more quickly.
▪️The old city has more local food than the new city. Zhongxing Coal Mine is worth a visit. There are some very nostalgic play facilities in People's Park. If you are short on time, you can also go directly from Zaozhuang Station to and from Taierzhuang.
▪️The ancient city is worth visiting for its various small and vertical museums, watching the Iron Flower performance at night, and just strolling around to relax.

Taishan Xinggong
Taishan Xinggong, commonly known as 'Taishan Temple', is located in the northwest of Tai'erzhuang ancient city. It was first built in the 13th year of the Zhengde era of the Ming Dynasty (1518) and was destroyed in the Tai'erzhuang Battle in 1938. In 2011, it was rebuilt on the original site. Taishan Xinggong covers an area of 2,000 square meters, with a building area of 826 square meters, consisting of the main hall, the God of Wealth hall, the Guanyin hall, as well as a bell tower and a drum tower. In the center of the main hall is the enshrinement of the Goddess Bixia Yuanjun, flanked by the Goddess of Eyesight and the Goddess of Child Delivery.

Tai'erzhuang Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
I like the feeling of Taierzhuang very much. It has a sense of history and is warm and warm. It has both the spectacular and solid architecture of the northern architecture and the dexterity and beauty of the southern architecture. It can be seen that the bricks and watts that the ancients designed and built with enough care can be preserved in time and war.
Taierzhuang's lighting layout is also very elegant. In the dark, you can clearly see the Longqiao Tower, which is outlined by the lanterns. The lights are reflected on the river, like a small kaleidoscope sprinkled into the water, like walking. Into the dream. The entire ancient city is left with only the outlines of various buildings painted by the lights. As the crowds and lanterns look far away, the ancient city towers with bright lights are exceptionally brilliant in the night, and they are worthy of the momentum of the first village in the world.
