You can never predict whether the trials you face will lead you to muddy bumps or a rainbow after the rain! 🗺️ Itinerary The original plan was to drive from Shanghai to Jingdezhen, staying one night in Wuyuan's Huangling to see the rapeseed flowers and eat beef bone noodles before heading to Jingdezhen. However, as the rain god seems to have taken a liking to me, ever since I arrived in Jiangxi, thunderstorms have been relentless, forcing me to alter my route: Wuyuan Huangling — Wangkou Village — Likeng — Jingdezhen 📢 Attraction Introduction: ✅ Wangkou Village — Named for its location at the confluence of two rivers, with clear waters in front of the village, hence 'Wangkou' (meaning 'pond mouth'). The first settlers were descendants of Qi, with the village also known as 'Yongchuan' due to its long and flowing history. It is an ancient Huizhou village predominantly inhabited by the Yu clan. The village's unique architectural style, superb craftsmanship, and high cultural taste make Wangkou an exhibition garden of masterpieces of ancient Chinese folk architecture. The guesthouse is pure white, quite photogenic. The guesthouse also has its own cafe and parking lot, perfect for a lazy afternoon tea when you don't feel like going out. 🥗 Dining Recommendation: Lunch was at 👉 'Home Sweet Home' Farmhouse Not particularly recommended but worth a try, the fresh bamboo shoots were indeed tender, and the landlady was very enthusiastic; Dinner was the internet-famous 👉 Fan's Beef Bone Noodles Not expensive, quite spicy, but lacking the fragrance of beef, not as amazing as imagined, just average. ⚠️ Notes: 1️⃣ The local Jiangxi cuisine is not as spicy as rumored, I found it rather mild; 2️⃣ Remember to enter Wangkou Village through the back door to avoid paying for a ticket; 3️⃣ It's best to visit Likeng in March or April, skip it during the summer as it often gets flooded; 4️⃣ If you have time for a longer visit, consider buying a combo ticket, otherwise visiting just one spot is enough.

Famous Yellow Flowers in Jiangling, Wuyuan

The Jiangling Scenic spot in Wuyuan, Jiangxi is famous for the yellow rapeseed (canola) flowers that bloom in the spring! Late March to early April is the best time to visit and catch the flowers at the right time. It’s perfect for photographers and those who want a scenic day out in nature! Getting There - You first can take a train into Wuyuan Train Station, or fly into Huangshan Airport or Jingdezhen Airport. From there I recommend hiring a car or getting a taxi to the scenic area (from Jingdezhen this was around 1 hour 40 minutes). It’s quite a drive, but really lovely views along the way! Attractions - The Jiangling Scenic ticket costs 80RMB. There are multiple viewing platforms and paths for walking through the terraces and seeing the flowers. Hotels - There are several hotels in the area. We stayed at the Jiangling Garden Hotel, it was a very basic hotel, nothing fancy and few amenities, but it was a fantastic location to wake up and be right next to the flowers. It was easy to walk up to the No. 1 & 2 viewing platform for a view above the terraces. The owner was lovely as well and made us breakfast and lunch. 1 | The breathtaking Jiangling. 🌸 Wuyuan, you really play so splendidly! 🌸 If spring has ten parts of beauty, nine of them are in Wuyuan! The rapeseed flowers of Wuyuan have been famous since ancient times. The sight of flowers blanketing the hills and fields is unforgettable. On the third day, early in the morning, we took a bus from Sanqingshan to the Jiangling scenic area in Wuyuan, which is about a two-hour drive. Jiangling scenic area is one of the four major rapeseed flower seas in China. 🌸 In 1987, the famous international photography master from Hong Kong, Mr. Chen Fuli, took his masterpiece 'Heaven on Earth' here, which won the gold medal in an international photography competition. Since then, Jiangling has become renowned worldwide and has become the most visually impactful rapeseed flower viewing spot in the East China region. Wuyuan has also become a holy land for tourists and a paradise for photographers. 🌸 Climbing up the steps from Jiangling village, it takes about 15 minutes to reach the No. 1 viewing platform on the mountain top. This is the best place to view the panoramic scenery of the ten thousand mu flower sea. From a high vantage point, in the valley flanked by two mountains, the golden rapeseed flowers are terraced from the mountain top all the way down to the foot of the mountain, layer upon layer, as far as the eye can see. The breath of spring hits you in the face, with distant green mountains, nearby winding streams, and clouds and mist swirling among them. The golden rapeseed, the pure white pear blossoms, the specks of peach red, and the Huizhou-style architecture with white walls and black tiles, all compose a beautiful picture scroll. Forgive my limited experience, but this might be the most beautiful spring I have ever seen!
