Yangma Island - Yantai
Yangma Island is located in the Yellow Sea, Muping District, Yantai City,of Shandong Province. sometimes referred to as “Horse Island”.
Me and my friends drove to Yangma Island. There are a few nice tourist spots with wonderful view.
First we were amazed by the sunset and we spent some time watching the sun hiding behind the horizon. It was very relaxing and nice but after a while we were trying to find a place where we can get coffee unfortunately nowhere really decent for coffee. It didn't take us too long to understand that next time better bring our own water/drinks and just enjoy the view.
Address: No.99, Tianma Road, Muping Yantai.

Yantai Yangma Island | Forever captivated by the sea of Yantai Yangma Island
Yantai Yangma Island | Forever captivated by the sea of Yantai Yangma Island. If you come to Yantai, be sure to choose a sunny day to visit Yangma Island, drive around the island, play in the sand, stroll on the pier, and watch the sunset! Finally, I've come to this beautiful island that I've had saved for so long. I was enticed by Yantai Yangma Island years ago when I saw it in a video, and now I finally had the chance to visit. The scenery is beautiful and it's free, just sitting on the beach, spacing out, feeling the sea breeze, it's super healing!
The "Maldives" of the East
✨🎈Yongmao Island Round Island Travelogue🎈✨ || Yongmao Island is located in Muping District, Yantai City, situated between Yantai and Weihai😎. You can drive across the Yongmao Island Bridge to get onto the island🚗. The weather doesn't greatly affect access to the island, and entry and exit are free, which is very friendly for those who get seasick👏.
🎯1️⃣ Seaside Bathing Beach (p2)
😊 Turn right after entering the island, and not far away is the seaside bathing beach✨. This is the only sandy beach on the island, so don't miss it if you want to play in the sand🤩 (other beaches are mostly rocky, with less sand).
💰 Don't enter the paid parking lot❌! Drive a few meters further, and there's the free parking lot🅿.
🎯2️⃣ Zhangdao (p3-5)
👣 Not far from the seaside bathing beach. It's very crowded, and there are many snack stalls🎉. It's one of the better-developed attractions on the island👍. Walking along the boardwalk to the seaside, you'll enjoy a broad view and stunning scenery🤗. However, be careful when climbing rocks and don't go beyond the marked areas🙅.
Snack stalls and the coffee shop nearby have a paid parking lot, don't enter❌! Go forward 10 meters, and after the corner, there's the free parking lot👏.
🎯3️⃣ Spring Light Fishing Pier (p6-7)
This place has a rather ordinary seascape, just a small path facing the sea, but it looks pretty good in photos🤳, giving off a bit of a Kamakura vibe (actually, this kind of path is quite common in Yantai and Weihai)🤭.
🎯4️⃣ Observation Deck (p8-10)
This is a larger observation deck🤩, with little houses and sculptures made of wood, officially set up😜.
Here, not only can you enjoy the beautiful sea and sky, but you can also clearly feel the unique marine erosion landforms of Yongmao Island😎. You can go down the slope to the seaside for some great photo opportunities🤳.
🎯5️⃣ Qin Feng Cliff (p11-13)
A landmark attraction of Yongmao Island👍, with the bronze statue of galloping horses right here🐎. There are two small thatched pavilions by the sea, and you can walk down the boardwalk to take photos📷.
🎯6️⃣ Island Diary (p14-15)
The island's popular cafe😎, with white houses and the blue sea matching perfectly🤩.
🎯7️⃣ Lotus Sunset (p16-18)
👀 This spot was discovered by netizens with great insight😜. Facing the sea, go down from the right-hand side, and you'll see "No Shell Picking" written on the seaside rocks🙅. Over the rocks is the little cave🤩.
The path down is very slippery, so be careful🤗. The cave is not big, and there are many flies, so when taking photos, squat in the cave close to the wall, and switch your phone to 0.5x wide-angle mode📱. There's also a glass house on the cliff, which is quite unique😎.
💕Tips💕:
👉 Be sure to apply sunscreen! Use both physical and chemical sunscreens! Cover up as much as possible🤗!
👉 It's recommended to drive onto the island! Some attractions have roadside parking spots, which are very convenient👏. Although there are bus stops for sightseeing buses, I didn't see any🙅. Riding an electric bike is too far, and it's too hot, with few shelters along the way🤨.
👉 Bring some food onto the island, as there aren't many restaurants🤗.

Very good place.
This a a good place. Very convenient to eat and shopping. I like it.
Walking in the rain on Yantai Hill
Yantai Hill Scenic Area is located at the southernmost end of Fuzhou's historical and cultural central axis, and is a direct testament to Fuzhou's modern diplomatic, commercial, and shipping history. In the twenty-second year of the Daoguang era of the Qing Dynasty (1842), the Qing government signed the Treaty of Nanjing with Britain, opening Shanghai, Guangzhou, Fuzhou, Xiamen, and Ningbo as treaty ports, collectively known as the 'Five Port Commerce'. In the twenty-fourth year of the Daoguang era (1844), Fuzhou officially opened its port, and Western merchants and missionaries flocked to the area, renting land and building houses around Cangqianshan on Nantai Island, establishing foreign firms, schools, hospitals, and setting up consulates or agencies, forming the 'Cangqianshan Foreign Settlement'. The Yantai Hill area, located at the center of the settlement, thus developed into Fuzhou's consulate district and foreign trade base.
Taking the east-west Lequn Road - Aiguo Road as the main sightseeing route, along the line are important attractions and buildings such as the Cangshan Cinema, Yantai Hill Park, Lequn Building, Minhai Customs Tax Office, Shicuo Church, French Consulate, and American Consulate (Aiguo Road No. 2), where one can not only
experience a series of cultural, commercial, and religious buildings such as banks and American-Chinese bookstores, but also feel the multiculturalism of Yantai Hill and converse with time in a leisurely stroll.
The beauty of Yantai Hill, as described by Mr. Ye Shengtao, is that 'almost every garden, road,
cluster of flowers, house, rickshaw driver, has poetry in it. Especially endearing is the time when the evening sun is faint, and a bell tolls from the chapel, while several girls with flowered paper umbrellas walk under the green shade.'
This is Yantai Hill.

Haichang Fisherman's Wharf Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
It's not that I can't afford to go to Europe, but Yantai is more cost-effective!
On the day in Yantai, we encountered a heavy snowfall that we haven't seen in recent years❄️
From the lonely whale to the fisherman's wharf more than 20 kilometers away
It took a full four hours
Because of the heavy wind and snow, the traffic was blocked and paralyzed several times
Many locals said they had never seen such a heavy snowfall in Yantai☃️
But! This! Can't stop!
My heart to go to the fisherman's wharf❤️❤️❤️
Taxi➕Bus➕Taxi➕Walking➕Bus
Finally, I arrived at the fisherman's wharf before sunset!
-
I stepped on the thick snow that didn't pass my calf, standing at the railing and looking at the fisherman's wharf
Because of the strong exotic architectural style
Plus the falling snowflakes and the white snow on the roof
The whole feel is more Nordic!
The sunset opposite the fisherman's wharf where we went in the evening was also very beautiful
It instantly dispelled our fatigue from running around all day
As it was about to enter the night, we also started shooting under the street lights next to the bus station
A warm yellow light shines on the snow, although the temperature is very low, it feels warm
We also went to the white wave coffee and had a cup of latte☕️super warm~
-
☃️Fisherman's Wharf Guide
❄️If you come from the city, you can take the No. 10 bus back and forth, which is very convenient
❄️The buildings near the fisherman's wharf seem to only turn on the lights on weekends. It was a bit regretful when we went there and the lights were not on
Friends thought I went to Prague abroad, but actually I'm at Yantai Fisherman's Wharf in Shandong.
When you come to Yantai, be sure to visit the Fisherman's Wharf.
I heard that the place known as "Bruges of Yantai" is really beautiful!
Yantai Haichang Fisherman's Wharf is the most exotic place in Yantai and the first choice for sea viewing.
Located on Binhai Middle Road in Laishan District, Yantai City, facing the Yellow Sea to the east, adjacent to the Second Seawater Bathing Beach to the north, and reaching the original fishing port to the south, surrounded by the sea on three sides.
Here, there is a cluster of Victorian-style buildings, rich European style, with sea breeze and seagull cries. When you walk among them, it feels like being in a foreign port town. It's really nice.
Come out for a walk and choose a corner of the bay to enjoy a different view of the sea-like Prague scenery.
Blow the sea breeze on the East Sea Observation Deck, watch the sunrise over the sea, and embrace the first ray of sunshine.
To the south, you can board a cruise ship to the offshore ranch and enjoy leisure activities on the "Genghai No.1". You can also camp and take a leisurely stroll. How delightful!
Self-driving or public transportation are both very convenient.
Haichang Fisherman's Wharf
European style architecture. it is a
very nice place to visit with family or friends. There are restaurants and entertainment facilities.
Although the Food is very expensive and over-priced, and the service isn’t the best.
But still I guess you can have a good day there as it is very beautiful spot. Also there are some attractions 🎠 and a Shark Aquarium. Shark enthusiasts will love that place.
It was very beautiful watching the sunset and you’ll always get a very nice view if you drive along the coast.
Address: No.45, Binhai Middle Road (Beside
the Second Bathing Beach), Laishan, Yantai.

It's not that I can't afford to go to Europe, but Yantai offers better value for money!
Yantai really changed my impression of seaside cities,
I never thought this small town could be so beautiful,
From Sochengli to Yantai Mountain, it's like traveling back to Yantai a hundred years ago,
The red-roofed European-style houses at the Fisherman's Wharf also resemble Prague,
I saw a sea sunrise once, and also encountered the "Lonely Whale".
Let's take a two-day and one-night trip together,
To this underrated seaside town of Yantai.
-
🚶🏻♀️Two-day and one-night strategy

Arrive in Yantai—Chaoyang Street—Yantai Mountain—Sochengli
DAY2️⃣ (Seaside recreation):
Jinsha Beach Riverside Park (Lonely Whale)—Glass Church—Binhai Middle Road—Fisherman's Wharf

📍Chaoyang Street
Chaoyang Street is a fashionable commercial street, but the old buildings inside all have Western characteristics. Here you can find Yantai's special Zhongshuge bookstore, as well as the Panda Wall, and the most beautiful Starbucks here.
-
📍Yantai Mountain
Coming out from Chaoyang Street and walking up the hill along the signs is Yantai Mountain, where you will see exotic small western-style buildings, Bingxin Memorial Hall, and from the heights, you can overlook the mountains and sea.
-
📍Sochengli
This place is simply half of Yantai's history, the streets here have an old street flavor, and there are many internet-famous photo spots,
Love Alley, Flower Character Wall, Yantai LOGO are all here,
Be sure to go up to the city tower to overlook the entire Sochengli.
-
📍Lonely Whale
📍Location: Jinsha Beach Riverside Park
The huge seaside sculpture of a whale is really shocking,
The whale beside the blue sea, with a soaring posture, really has a lonely beauty. If you want to take beautiful photos, you can choose to come here in the early morning, the beach here can see the sunrise, which is very beautiful.
-
📍Seaside Glass Church
Location: Yantai Love Chapel
This seaside chapel about 4 kilometers away from the Lonely Whale is a must-see, the fully transparent glass chapel stands by the sea, both sacred and romantic. There is also a staircase by the chapel that is great for sea viewing.
-
📍Fisherman's Wharf
📍Location: Yantai Binhai Middle Road Fisherman's Wharf
You can walk from Binhai Middle Road all the way to Fisherman's Wharf, Binhai Middle Road is a seaside road, along the way the bus stops and roadside are very healing, and you can also take photos of the European-style buildings in the distance at Fisherman's Wharf from Binhai Middle Road. The Fisherman's Wharf is also very photogenic, walking along the boardwalk inside, blowing the seaside breeze is really comfortable, the red-roofed houses in the Fisherman's Wharf under the blue sky and white clouds really have a fairy tale style.
-
🍲Yantai cuisine:
Hairtail dumplings, sea intestine rice, Yantai braised dishes, various seafood, etc.
-
💕Travel suggestions:
👉🏻Good weather in a seaside city is very important, the sea is really blue on sunny days, but also remember to apply sunscreen, you can also bring an umbrella for shade.
👉🏻The Lonely Whale and the Glass Church are a bit far from the city center, it is recommended to take a taxi.
👉🏻If you are playing for three days and two nights, you can take a day to visit Yangma Island.

Ideal Holiday Destinations/Photogenic Island Getaway/Perfect Weekend Trip for College Students
【Schedule】
9:10-10:00 Penglai Changdao
Purchase ferry tickets in advance on the WeChat public account 'Changdao Ferry Tickets' (a one-way trip costs 45 yuan, and it's okay to buy tickets one day in advance). Arrive at Penglai Port 15 minutes early, where you can enter the station directly with your ID card. Once on board, find a seat at your leisure, or head to the deck to watch the sea and seagulls (prepare some sausages in advance to feed the seagulls!)
10:30 Arrive at the Fengshan Forest Sea ticket office
We bought a full-line ticket at half price for students (75 yuan per person for all attractions on Changdao, remember to bring your student ID, or show the ticket seller your registration on the 'Xuexin' educational network), and then we started hiking. Here you can find the boundary line between the Yellow Sea and the Bohai Sea, which is super photogenic, and there are lots of seagulls. It's recommended to spend two hours here.
Have lunch and take a nap at noon.
14:00 Arrive at Wangfu Reef, play for an hour until Yuyue Bay. Most of the time is spent sitting by the sea, enjoying the breeze, listening to the waves, basking in the sun, and chatting.
16:00 Head to Jiuzhang Cliff to watch the sunset, which is incredibly beautiful, and there are fishing boats passing by that make for great photo opportunities.
Notes:
1. Check the weather forecast in advance before planning your trip! Always choose a good day for sea viewing!
2. You can bring your own dry food (bread, sausages + water, etc.) to the island, as food on the island is a bit expensive and not very tasty . The wind is strong by the sea, so bring a coat to avoid catching a cold. Sunglasses and power banks are a must!
Finally, when you're out and about, pay attention to safety!

Penglai Pavilion Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
College student travel special forces
This May, I took a ferry from Dalian to Yantai, and got a direct student ticket for 180 round trips!
Arrived in Yantai city area at more than eleven o'clock in the evening, decisively went to Haidilao to enjoy 69% discount!
The hotel is a Home Inn near Yantai Station, the service is very good, the room is also clean and tidy, it is very comfortable to live in! It's very convenient to go anywhere, there is Joy City nearby, if you have time, you can also go shopping, you can see Zhiyu Bay on the top floor!
I booked a tour group to Penglai District·Yantai one day in advance, and I was lucky enough to be a small group. The included projects are also many, and there is no forced consumption. I highly recommend the tour group! The guide's explanation is also very interesting! Pick-up and drop-off are all at the hotel entrance!
I strolled around in Penglai Scenic Area for a day. I wanted to eat Penglai noodles. As a result, I went late and found that most of the noodle restaurants were closed . I looked at the recommendations on the Internet and went to a noodle restaurant that was not very close and had not closed yet. There was only one bowl of sea urchin noodles left, which was really fresh! Bone soup noodles are also very good, but they are a bit inferior compared to small noodles!
I also visited the filming location of Hello, Mr. Billionaire, Wencheng Castle! Not highly recommended! Because most of the inside is under maintenance.
After returning to the hotel from Penglai, I took a rest for a while, and then went to the Happy Night Market, which was really crowded with people!
The next day I went to Suochengli and Chaoyang Pedestrian Street, saw a wall full of teddy bears, and ate at a very popular small restaurant. I also took the "17" route and went to see Moon Bay.
You can basically take a bus in Yantai city to meet our needs for sightseeing spots, it's really convenient!
In the evening, I took a direct ferry back to Dalian, ending the two-day and two-night travel life!
I really like Yantai, I feel that the sea breeze is very gentle!
Penglai pavilion
1.
Address - penglai
Highlights - old castle , nice view to the sea on top of a hill, large park with a lake communicating with the sea, old writing carved in stone, very interesting wooden ship museum (4 wooden shops recovered from the harbour, old construction techniques explained, cats of course, and the home of the eight immortal crossing the sea.
visited in December, so almost nobody, was sunny but cold. I guess a visit in May would be even better.
Worth a visit, plan for 4 hours with the museum, walk up the hill is a bit steep.
one carving in stone had different writing, old Chinese characters almost like sanscrit.
Entrance is 100rmb, bring your passport.
Penglai, more suitable for the physical constitution of Chinese babies
Take advantage of the weather not being too hot, and set off on a weekend soon.
I highly recommend a weekend trip within Shandong Province for babies, focusing on a relaxing vacation, not for special forces, and not rushing to tourist spots haha~
Penglai Pavilion
In mythology, the overseas fairy island 'All mirages are illusions, one is not a fairy until reaching Penglai' Penglai Pavilion is quite large, be prepared for a WeChat sports climb to the top, but it's really worth it. Inside there are ancient architectural complexes, museums, etc., very worth checking in. You can also take a sea cable car to Tianheng Mountain Scenic Area, both single and round trips are available, of course, you can also walk there. Ticket price: 100
Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea
The entire scenic area is shaped like a gourd, lying on the sea, the place where the mythological Eight Immortals crossed the sea. Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea is right next to Penglai Pavilion, and taking photos in the sea area outside is really photogenic, seagulls play in the bell sounds, allowing one to calm down, and the night here is as beautiful as the day. Ticket price: 80
Three Immortals Mountain
Three Immortals Mountain refers to the three mythical mountains 'Penglai, Fangzhang, Yingzhou' in ancient mythology, mainly for viewing ancient buildings. The most famous is Penglai Fairy Island, which I personally think is a very worthwhile attraction in Penglai. The buildings inside are beautifully carved and perfect for Hanfu photography, it seems there is also a Hanfu rental gallery inside, babies in need can do some homework, it's really photogenic and worth a visit
Paying tribute to Beyond, come to Yantai to listen to the golden hits

The spirit of Beyond has reached the Jiaodong Peninsula, and this time the Eternal Band has come to Yantai! Apart from the Red Fuji apples and big cherries, how many of Yantai's attractions do you know? Take the opportunity to come to the concert and check in at Yantai!
1. Penglai Pavilion
Penglai Pavilion Scenic Area is one of the first national 5A-level tourist attractions, known as one of China's ancient 'Four Great Towers', alongside Wuhan's Yellow Crane Tower, Hunan's Yueyang Yueyang Tower, and Jiangxi's Nanchang Tengwang Pavilion. It is famous both at home and abroad for the legend of 'The Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea' and the mirage phenomenon known as 'The Sea's Market Mirage'.
2. Changdao
Changdao is located between the Liaodong Peninsula and the Shandong Peninsula, known as the 'Fairyland on the Sea', consisting of 32 islands. There is no island in Changdao that isn't picturesque or unique; it is a natural sea garden. Here you can find reefs, cliffs, beaches, and forests, with famous attractions including Crescent Bay Park, Jiuzhang Cliff, Miaodao Tianhou Temple, Longzhu Mountain, Baota Reef, Bird Island, the boundary line between the Yellow Sea and the Bohai Sea, and Linhai Park, among others.
