Aiguille de Midi Review

Southern Needle Peak (French: Aiguille du Midi) is a mountain peak in the French Alps, composed of jagged needle-shaped rocks formed by glaciers, at an altitude of 3,842 meters, 8 kilometers from Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in the Alps, and is one of the most distinctive landmarks in Chamonix. The name of the peak literally translates as "noon needle", referring to the south needle peak in Chamonix, where the sun just reached the peak at noon.

In the small town of Chamonix, there is a cable car directly to the South Needle Peak. Because the small train line of the autumn glacier is closed, I bought a round-trip ticket for the South Needle Peak for 58.5 Euro. From the Chamonix terminal, transfer two stations, you can climb the highest observation deck to look at Mont Blanc, a very magnificent snow-capped mountain scenery.

The South Needle is a mountain peak of Mont Blanc in the French Alps at an altitude of 3,842 meters. The cableway was built in 1955 and was the tallest in the world at that time, and is still the largest vertically distanced cableway in the world, from 1,035 to 3,842 meters, and only 20 minutes above 2,800 meters.

Unlike other Alpine snow-capped mountains, Nanneo Peak is only more than 3,000 meters away, but it is a very steep mountain peak, which can take the cable car directly to the viewing platform built on the top of the mountain. It has only a resting platform at the top, a small place, so it gives a feeling of a cone, is the kind of place that really allows you to experience the altitude, must not be missed.
