Heping Park Review

Came on October 15, 2023. Peace Park is a relatively large park in Hongkou District. With the renovation project of the old area in the surrounding area, this park has also undergone a transformation and upgrading of the nature of "Tengcage for Birds". Life experience from childhood to large and Hongkou District has no intersection, never played the old peace park, so there is no feelings. Just from the perspective of tourists, the renovated Peace Park landscape is very good, and there are many different areas in the whole park, which can meet the different needs of surrounding residents. In fact, most of the indigenous people in the surrounding area have been demolished, but there are still many tourists in the park, which seems to be mainly surrounding residents; there are two good cafes and tea houses in the north of the park, which can recruit more tourists who open the small cockroaches. The only slight downside is that there are no zoos and cruise projects in the park now, and the fun of the park seems to be less. There is a lot of water in the Peace Park, and it is a pity that there is no cruise project. We are not people in Hongkou District, but we came by car. There seems to be no parking lot in the park. We chose to park in the parking garage of the Piaoying Century Building on Tianbao Road near Xinhang Road. There are many parking spaces here, 8 yuan an hour, and it takes 5 minutes to walk to the park. The price/performance ratio is OK.

The tourist service center on the right side of the sinking square at the entrance and exit of Peace Park 1 has recently completed an upgrade and renovation. In order to further improve the garden experience of public tourists, play the concept of "park +", choose succulent plants as exhibits, create multi-functional positions combining succulent display and service functions, the new venue not only has succulent display, but also reserved a space for public tourists to watch and relax. It is convenient for everyone to watch the succulents up close.

After the Peace Park is renovated, it seems that it is not as fun as before. Many places are different from before, the entertainment projects for playing are gone, and the animals are gone, including pigeons. In fact, it feels strange that the project that should be retained is dismantled. As a park, it should satisfy different classes of tourists and our local citizens, right? 在上海和平公园生态岛出入口（原动物园门口）附近的草丛内，发现一座貌似石椅的物体，上前查看，原来是一块墓碑。经网上查阅，了解到此墓碑为老牌旅沪英侨福特家族墓碑之遗存，原坐落于静安寺公墓（或旧称：静安寺外国坟山），众所周知的原因，静安寺公墓及其内部几乎所有的旅沪西侨名人墓穴墓碑皆已不存，而和平公园的这块墓碑可谓是上海滩仅存的原静安寺公墓墓碑，且保护完好，弥足珍贵。这块硕大的墓碑四面中有三面刻有英文墓志铭，告诉了我们曾经有三代共五位家族成员先后安葬于静安寺公墓的福特家族墓地处，他们是：福特夫妇 J. K. Ford (1944年去世，69岁)和 Mary Pomeroy Ford(1938年去世，63岁)、 福特先生岳母 Mary Pomeroy(1915年去世，73岁) 、福特妹妹 Maude Ethel Ford(1911年去世，26岁)和福特长女 Catherine Agnes Ford(1932年去世，23岁)，后两位皆英年早逝。上海愚园路750弄愚园新村8号是J. K. Ford 福特家族的故居。从这块墓碑所挖出的背后故事窥见了一个来沪较早、较为庞大的英国侨民先驱在上海开埠后近百年的时间内扎根上海、入乡随俗、生老病死、开枝散叶和最终曲终人散的家族兴亡史，对于研究英国侨民在沪之历史颇有裨益。

和平公园旧称“提篮公园”，1938年，园址范围被日军圈作军事用地，日军在此构筑6座钢筋混凝土防空洞作弹药库，并在周围挖土构筑工事，以致形成池沼洼地23处。1958年，经市人民委员会批准，在此地筹建提篮公园。1959年10月1日为纪念建国10周年，为了教育后人永远不忘历史，热爱和平，同时大型石雕和平鸽在园内落成，公园由提篮公园改名为和平公园。2020年12月30日，和平公园闭园实施改造。经过近两年的改造，重新开放的公园又吸引了不少市民前来打卡，现在既有曾经熟悉的环境，也有新增的陌生场所，可惜的是曾经是孩子们最喜欢的动物岛被拆除了。

运气不错 今天晚上人不多。进入夏季，夜跑的市民多了起来，黄兴公园一直是附近居民的天然健身场所。绿地、凉亭，全然是一幅夏日凉风好的优美意境。棒棒棒一级棒。
