Location: Super convenient, right next to JR station, with a dedicated elevator.
Room: For Japan, it's quite spacious. The toilet and bathroom are separate, and the tatami room offers a very traditional experience.
Facilities: There's a self-service luggage storage area.
Service: Excellent. From the moment I stepped out of the elevator, I was guided the whole way. You need a key card to access the room area.
Breakfast: Served in a separate restaurant, and the breakfast spread is extensive, with a guide present.
Nestled right next to the river, near the village center. Close to the main walking street and attractions. Traditional Ryokan with very good hospitality. Excellent outdoor onsen, with many smaller private onsen in the annex building. Cozy environment, a really good place to relax. The Kaiseki dinner was really good! The curated selections were great in taste, textures and varieties. Best night's sleep in our 7 day tour of Kyushu. Breakfast was good as well, followed by sightseeing around Kurokawa Onsen before checking out. Truly enjoyed our stay here, thanks to their staff. Great people, lovely place.
This hotel in Kumamoto offers great value for money, much more affordable than Fukuoka. It's a new hotel located right in Kumamoto city center, making it an excellent choice. We took the Fukuoka Airport bus to the Kumamoto Bus Terminal, and it was less than a 10-minute walk from there. The hotel is also very close to the shopping street, which we walked through several times a day – super convenient for dining and shopping.
**Facilities:**
The building is prominent and easy to find. The lobby offers a variety of tea bags, and toiletries are available for self-service. The in-room facilities are relatively new, convenient, and easy to use.
**Hygiene:**
The room was clean and tidy, and the linens were comfortable.
**Environment:**
The location is superb, just a short walk to the shopping street and the city's central area.
**Service:**
The staff were efficient and friendly.
The breakfast was quite unique, offering various local horse meat options. The taste was decent, nothing extraordinary. I was particularly impressed by the local transparent soy sauce and even bought some to take home.
I took a bus from Fukuoka Airport to Sakuramachi Bus Terminal, which took over two hours, but it was hassle-free. The room was larger than the KOKO hotels I've stayed at before and very clean. I've stayed at KOKO hotels in Kobe and Shinsaibashi and had a great impression, so I chose KOKO again for my trip to Kumamoto. The location is excellent; it's a straight shot from the hotel to Kumamoto Castle and Josaien. There's a department store right below the hotel, and the supermarket on B1 has an incredible variety of products. Across the street is a bustling shopping and dining street, similar to Shinsaibashi. I highly recommend it to anyone planning a trip to Kumamoto; it's definitely worth staying here.
Wonderful hotel 🏨 ♥️ 👌
We feel it's a real 5 stars hotel; from the excellent service, the rooms and on to the dinning room, and of course the onsen, everything and everyone were just perfect!
We got a room facing the garden, forest and mountains and it was just great waking up to these views in the mornings.
The experience of food was excellent, both at breakfast and dinner...
The staff here go out if their way to make sure you have what you need, and the onsen was the best one I have seen in Japan so far; it has several hot baths, indoor and outdoor, and dry sauna.
We were extremely happy we booked this place ahead of time as it was fully booked when we arrived and there wasn't even availability to upgrade, even though it wasn't needed as the room was great already.
Thanks for everything 🙏
We booked two rooms for our family of four as each room is rather small. We stayed three nights and enjoyed ourselves. Car park is round the corner so its convenient. Hotel gave us a voucher for discounted parking. The hotel is very central and convenient with a MacDonalds right downstairs.

Amazing
Food was unexpectedly good and big portion. Clean facility and room. Loved the private bath and staff is so kind
The room was well-cleaned. The location was better than I expected. The food was delicious. The breakfast had a wide variety of items, and the freshly squeezed orange juice was amazing. The staff were cheerful and friendly.
The service staff were very friendly. They greeted us at the main entrance when we arrived by car, helped us pick up our luggage, led us into the restaurant to dine, and introduced us to various ingredients and cooking methods one by one. The cooking method for dinner is very special. A fire is built on the sand and grilled. The taste is very unique. After the meal, he led us to the room and explained everything one by one, very professional. The location is relatively remote, but it can also be regarded as a unique feature. The hotel has a public bath, but we didn't go because there was a private bath in the room and the water temperature was very comfortable. Compared with other high-priced brand hotels, the price/performance ratio is really first-class, but the location is indeed relatively remote.
