Room size is decent, and the facilities are generally fine. No toothbrush or hairdryer in the room, but the front desk brought one up when I called.
Housekeeping: On the 27th, they said it was a holiday and wouldn't be cleaning, so I just asked for a fresh towel. They didn't clean for the next few days either; I had to specifically ask them to clean the room.
Environment: It's not soundproofed at all. The road outside is very noisy, and there were motorcycles revving loudly late at night. Couldn't sleep without earplugs.
Service: Overall, the service was quite good. They were very responsive to requests.

I had a very comfortable and pleasant stay at Hilton Kota Kinabalu. The service provided by the staff was exceptional, and I truly appreciated their kindness and understanding in allowing us to check in early without having to wait until 1:00 PM, especially considering my child needed proper rest after undergoing surgery.
The hospitality shown by the team made a challenging situation much easier for our family, and for that, I am sincerely grateful. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, providing a relaxing environment for recovery.
The breakfast was absolutely excellent, with a wide variety of delicious options and great quality food. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my experience and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kota Kinabalu. Thank you to the entire team for making our stay so comfortable and memorable.
We had pleasant 2 nights stay. The room size is perfect. I’m surprised with the mini kitchen. Almost all basic cooking tools are there. There’s filtered water. Didn’t get to use the swimming pool. Will visit some other time.

The hotel was clean and well-maintained, and the sea-view room offered beautiful views. However, the room faced a busy street, resulting in significant noise from motorcycles and traffic, which affected the overall stay. Another downside was the elevator outage. After a long wait, I had to walk down 19 floors using the stairs. The hotel could have addressed the issue more quickly to minimize the inconvenience and impact on guests.
Perfect Getaway!
This hotel on Mantanani Island, Kota Kinabalu, is an absolute gem! It's simply divine!
I specifically came to Kota Kinabalu for Mantanani Island's crystal-clear waters, and I chose the Mantanani Hotel in advance. After staying there, I just had to give it five stars!
The location is absolutely stunning. Step out, and you're on a soft, white sand beach. Open the balcony door, and you're greeted by the jelly-blue ocean. Waking up to the sound of waves every day was incredibly therapeutic. We booked a sea-view room; it was clean and spacious, the mattress had just the right firmness, and the shower water pressure was perfectly stable. There was no cramped feeling, which can often be the case with island hotels.
I have to praise the service! The front desk staff were incredibly enthusiastic. They pre-arranged our island transfers and even proactively recommended snorkeling spots and delicious local snacks. They were always responsive and efficient. The hotel breakfast was also a pleasant surprise – freshly baked waffles with fresh mango, and freshly made Teh Tarik. The taste was absolutely spot on.
In the afternoon, I relaxed on a hotel beach chair, enjoying the sea breeze, and in the evening, I had a barbecue at the hotel restaurant under the stars. The pace was wonderfully slow and comfortable – exactly the island vacation vibe I was looking for. If you're coming to Mantanani Island, I honestly recommend staying here. The experience is so much better than a day trip. I'll definitely stay here again on my next visit to Kota Kinabalu!
Are you planning a trip to Mantanani Island soon? Would you like me to write another short review in a different style, suitable for social media?

I had a really pleasant experience as a solo traveller. The service was excellent—staff were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. The facilities were well-maintained and clean, which made the stay very comfortable.
I especially enjoyed the amenities, which exceeded my expectations. Everything was convenient and easy to access. The atmosphere was relaxing and felt safe for solo travel.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this place and would be happy to stay here again!

Overall, it was pretty good. My take on Kota Kinabalu: sunsets are free, but a sea-view room isn't. However, it's worth it. I stayed at the Kota Kinabalu Seaview Hotel for three days and was completely captivated by the sunrises and sunsets. This sense of relaxation is the true essence of a vacation. Who says you have to brave the crowds to see one of the world's top 3 sunsets? I watched it right from my hotel balcony.

The check-in time is too late and the check-out time is too early, which is quite unreasonable. The front desk staff were very helpful. The location is excellent, just a 10-minute walk from the pier, with many restaurants, snack bars, and a 24-hour supermarket nearby. The hotel elevator is too small. The front desk is on the second floor, and on the day we checked in, we encountered a tour group by the entrance. We had to wait a long time in the heat for the elevator as there was no air conditioning.

I booked a mountain view room, which was quite spacious with a separate wet and dry area. The hotel, designed by Kengo Kuma, has a very stylish, minimalist feel. You can see how natural elements like wood and stone are incorporated with modern design. There's also a small balcony, perfect for drying clothes and enjoying the mountain views. I was lucky enough to catch a beautiful sunrise on my last day before heading to the airport.
There are a lot of motorbikes around here, but the room's soundproofing was excellent, so it didn't disturb my rest.
The hotel's location is also great; we were able to walk to Gaya Street and Suria Sabah Mall in just a few minutes.
Breakfast at the hotel blends local flavors, and you can also order à la carte. Although the laksa I ordered on the first day was a bit cold, I was truly impressed by the glutinous rice chicken, which had dried shrimp and other seafood, giving it a rich umami flavor.
The infinity pool and mountain-view gym are also stunning. I never usually use hotel gyms, but this time I went purely for the amazing view.
The only downsides were that the toilet seat in the room didn't have a soft-close function, which was quite noisy. Also, we couldn't get the in-room capsule coffee machine to work after several attempts, though maybe we just didn't know how to use it.
