Fascinating history and view of one of the largest Roman Hippodromes

Around 1.5 hour drive from Beirut the Hippodrome site has enough structures remaining to really see the size and structure of the original hippodrome- apparently one of the largest in the Roman Empire...

    History plus a nice walk

As all other Roman ruins around Middle East, this is worth visiting and have a walk around. Not crowded place at all. Hardly any people so really relaxing to wander around the hippodrome and the tombs...

    An international treasure

Not to be missed for its grandiosity and stature. A perfect example of the fame of Tyre and the richness of its history. And hopefully will attend a festival here.

Visit if you have the time

This ia another Roman ruins and where there used to be a Roman racecourse. In my opinion, not as impressive as Baalbek Temples. Hence, visit only if you have the time or happened to be in Tyre.
