Fort George is a huge fortress pool overlooking the Bay of Mali. Fort George is a large fortress in the 18th century, perhaps the most powerful artillery fortification in Europe. The fortress was built in 1746 and was damaged in the war with the James. It took 20 years to complete the construction. Since then, the fortress has never been attacked and has been preserved to this day. The design of the fortress is star-shaped. It is now open to the outside world and exhibits collections of different periods. Fort George was the base of the Royal Irish Legion in modern times. After 2007, the 3rd Battalion of the Royal Scottish Legion was stationed here.

The Armenian Church, constructed in 1712 and reconstructed in 1772, is one of the oldest churches of the Indian subcontinent, located in Chennai. It is famous for its belfry of six. The Church, also called the Armenian Church of Virgin Mary, is located on the Armenian Street in the neighbourhood of George TownFunctioning only as a heritage site, the Church is opened for visitors from 9 am till 2:30 pm.It is funded by the Armenian Apostolic Church[4] and maintained by The Armenian Church Committee in Calcutta. The graves of about 350 Armenians have been laid out throughout the Church. The founder, publisher and editor of the world's first Armenian periodical "Azdarar", Reverend Haroutiun Shmavonian, is buried here. The Belfry adjacent to the main Church structure houses six large bells which are rung every Sunday at 9:30 am by the caretaker. The Armenians were a select group of merchants in Madras Presidency. They walked all the way from Armenia, through the Hindukush mountains and came down to Madras. When the British were trading cotton cloth, Armenians dealt with fine silk, expensive spices and gems.Madras must have housed a small but a thriving Armenian population. Today there are none of them left.

In 2017, in front of the ancient temple of the Golden Temple, it rained ☔, the grandfather of the toy store wiped the chair clean, let me sit and rest, saw many parents with children buying toys, a few little boys next to the temple playing wrestling, they saw me and then came up to shake hands and chat, very polite, Watching them wrestle for half an hour, turning around to leave, and after walking a hundred meters, a little boy ran over and stuffed a sugar in my hand and ran away shyly. People there are so friendly, even if you are a stranger, you will be infected with happiness

Mamallapuram, also known as Seven Pagodas or Mahabalipuram, is a town in Chengalpattu district in the southeastern Indian state of Tamil Nadu.[1] It is on the coastline 58 kilometres (36 mi) south of the city of Chennai. An ancient historic town and a bustling seaport in the 1st millennium CE, now a beachside tourism center with a group of Hindu monuments declared as UNESCO world heritage site, it is one of the most visited towns in South India.[1][3] Mamallapuram was one of two major port cities by the 7th century within the Pallava kingdom. Along with economic prosperity, it became a center of a group of battle monuments carved out of rock. These are dated to the 7th and 8th centuries: rathas (temples in the form of chariots), mandapas (cave sanctuaries), giant open-air rock reliefs such as the famous Descent of the Ganges, and the Shore Temple dedicated to Shiva, Durga, Vishnu, Krishna and others.[1][3] The contemporary town plan was established by the British Raj in 1827.Neolithic burial urn, cairn circles and jars with burials dating to the 1st century BC have been discovered near Mamallapuram. The Sangam age poem Perumpāṇāṟṟuppaṭai relates the rule of King Thondaiman Ilam Thiraiyar at Kanchipuram of the Tondai Nadu port Nirppeyyaru which scholars identify with the present-day Mamallapuram. Chinese coins and Roman coins of Theodosius I in the 4th century CE have been found at Mamallapuram revealing the port as an active hub of global trade in the late classical period. Two Pallava coins bearing legends read as Srihari and Srinidhi have been found at Mamallapuram. The Pallava kings ruled Mamallapuram from Kanchipuram; the capital of the Pallava dynasty from the 3rd century to 9th century CE, and used the port to launch trade and diplomatic missions to Sri Lanka and Southeast Asia.Mamallapuram Shore Temple View from beachAn 8th-century Tamil text written by Thirumangai Alvar described this place as Sea Mountain ‘where the ships rode at anchor bent to the

One of the most important and iconic places in chennai . Lots and lots of express trains starts from chennai central . It is much cleaner than what it used to be before . They maintain it so well. Kudos to the government and everyone involved . Lots of stalls around the station .u will get idly vada , juice , medicines etc etc inside the station . Large boards displaying the status of trains and which platform they leave . I just do it know the quality of water that they sell - the one where they filter it and give u and also the bottled ones . I fell sick drinking this water . Avoid buying water from station. If not for this , it was a good experience overall ..
