It took two hundred years to build the monastery, which went through several monarchs of the Angkor Dynasty. The first is that it is very important to climb the temple and have a good view. The size of the whole monastery is still relatively large, and the overall architectural style is very similar to Angkor Wat. I strongly recommend that you go there and have a look. The only shortcoming is that it is relatively remote and has a long journey.

Nowadays, many parts of the temple are collapsed by various factors such as nature and war. If visitors want to go inside the temple, they have to walk on the wooden bridge built by the APSARA national Authority.

Ta Prohm is a "must see" for all visitors to Angkor. However pretty much every tourist - foreign or local who comes to the archeological park comes here, and as it is not so big, it can get insanely busy - sometimes lines of 20 people waiting to have their photos taken. Come either in the first half hour after it opens (7:30~8am) or the final half hour before it closes (5~5:30pm), and it is significantly quieter.

Every day that I spend in Angkor, I discover a new favorite temple. Right now it is Preah Khan. A couple of km from Bayon, it is a massive place filled with intricate carvings, and the remnants of restored buildings. Easily worth half a day here.

Bakken Mountain is a hill about 70 meters high, about1.5 kilometers northwest of Angkor Wat. To the west of the mountain is the open West Baray, and the jungle in the southeast is Angkor Wat. From the top of the mountain, you can overlook Angkor Wat. The Baken Mountains were the result of the relocation of Yasuo Samo I, who moved from the Lolo Temple to the Baken Mountains, where the buildings of the previous king were already rebuilt, and were not suitable for the young monarch to realize his urban planning. The site of Yasutara Buluo, centered on Bakan Mountain, was the capital of Cambodia until the 15th century.

This is one of my favorite Angkor temples. It is a little far away from the main group - perhaps 15km. As a result, it is quite quiet. Very well preserved. A fun drive to get there too through villages, rice fields etc.

Ta Som is one of the secondary type temples in Angkor. Still very impressive on its own, but tends to be skipped by many people. Go right through to the back to see a Ta Phrom type tree holding up the temple.

The attractions that the Chinese government helped to restore, the locals did not come, are very suitable for sightseeing... This is the second attraction to visit the Angkor Temple, so I am impressed... It is worth a visit, feeling the greatness of ancient craftsmen.

A pyramid-shaped temple in the jungle behind the Terrace of the Elephants in Angkor Thom. Looks great, but you are not allowed to go on top of this one.
