When entering several signs explain it's forbidden to take water from the Baiyun peddles or little rivers, however, many local Chinese take home this water for their belief that the Baiyun Mountain Water has healing or blessing characteristics. The mountain has some facinating stories, I was told by a local on the mountain that it's famous, a record of over thousand years ago speak of Cantonese of the Panyu region to travel by foot to the mountain to gather water, herbs or find help from the ancient spiritual leaders that took fruits and herb of the mountains to make medicines. It is stronly adviced to talk to the people walking on the mountain, if you find English speakers, they will be able to tell their knowledge of the mountain, about the thombstones on the side of the mountain and it's history. Please keep in mind that it's not appreciated to film and/or photograph thombstones or graves in China. As a rule of fist, if you see a local do something, feel free to do so, if you notice locals don't go near or photograph things, don't engage into unthoughfull behaviour or ask around first.Last but not least!
