Good way to understand the cultural heritage !
This was our first time in the Northern Island of Japan and we wanted to understand why Japanese people from the North looked and felt different than their country peers from the other islands . The C...
it is quite small but of exceptional quality given how little has been collected do Ainu history and culture. I have see other collections in Hokkaido but this is the best.
The name has changed and is now called the Northern Folk Museum. There was only the building of the former Bank of Japan Hakodate Branch, and the exterior was profound and modern in Taisho. Inside, it is really a cultural museum of various kinds, including Ainu, Hokkaido, Sakhalin, and ethnic clothing along the Amur River. It is a private registered museum, but it is closed. It was a historical museum such as the development of the northern part of Kahei Takataya (1769~1827 year), which is said to be the founder of Hakodate. It seems that there will be no resumption. It is a building that I want to take in the photo now. It is a building full of Taisho romance.
A solid building along the train street. There was a collection of Ainu clothes and living tools, but it was surprisingly beautiful. I was also interested in the viewpoint of Okhotsk culture.
