On April 29, 2019, I went to "Handayama Natural Park". Unfortunately, Yoshino cherry blossoms were scattered, but the weeping cherry blossoms were in full bloom and beautiful.

Drive to Mt. Handa.

Mt. Handa is known as a famous place for cherry blossoms. Perhaps because of the high altitude, Mt. Hanami blooms 3 ～ 4 weeks later. This is too far from Kuwaori Station and Fujita Station, so access is by car. It is paved, but be careful as the road is narrow. There is a parking lot in Handanuma. From there, you can climb Mt. Handa. It will arrive in 1 hour and 30 minutes. From Mt. Handa, you can see the heart-shaped Handanuma. The east side was open and the view of the Fukushima Basin and the sacred mountain was beautiful.

On May 2, 2018, I went to Handayama Natural Park. Unfortunately the cherry blossoms were scattered. This year, the cherry blossom front moved north earlier than usual.

Handayama Natural Park is a famous place for late-bloom cherry blossoms, and you can enjoy Yamazakura and Yoshino cherry blossoms until around early May. Also, you can see rare wild grasses such as cypress oysters from mid-May and cypress lilies from around June. In late April 2017, the cherry blossoms were in full bloom ♪
