The East Mansion started in 1938 and was completed in 1945. More than 600,000 bricks of various types, more than 1 million pages of tiles, more than 1000 kilograms of pigments, and more than 10 taels of gold were used for decorative bricks and wood carving flower patterns in the construction of the East Mansion. The East Mansion is a mansion in the shape of a "field" with a unique layout: the main entrance is a Western-style building, and the doorways and courtyards have different styles and functions. The main house of the main courtyard is a three-storey five-room building whose frame is composed of twenty-eight pillars; two-storey corner towers at both ends; five old-style halls in the east, west and south; four courtyards in the northwest and southwest. There are five rooms in each of the east, west, north and south; the southwest is the kitchen courtyard; the outer courtyard has the Guanhua Building, the guard courtyard, and the carriage and horse courtyard. In the courtyard of the East Mansion, the pavilions and pavilions are connected, with carved beams and painted buildings, magnificent and magnificent. The 189 brick carvings are all the works of the famous artist Zhan Chengyuan and his disciples. The patterns are unique and can be called a must. The east and west doors are symmetrical with peony vases, imitating the characteristics of cloisonne, using a combination of carving and hollowing out, carefully carved and very realistic. Known as the "Double-Rank Wealth Gate" and "Double-Rank Peony Gate", it implies that Ma Buqing was a second-rank official at that time, and also implies that entering this gate means stepping into the second-rank official's official residence. Entering the main entrance with Western-style architectural features, a picture of "Hundred Sons" is full of grapes, which is mouth-watering, finely carved and exquisitely carved. The "Pine Moon Map" on the southeast ridge wall of the three-story courtyard is bright and the moon is shining, the ancient pines are lush, among the rocks, the clear springs are rushing, and the mountains and flowers are in full bloom. On the east and west walls of the south room of the main courtyard is a picture of a budding peony and a graceful stand of lotus flowers. On both sides of the three-story building, the pattern on the right shows the mid-autumn moon under the moon and the bamboos are volleyed upward, and the two are opposite each other, which is quiet and tranquil; The woodcuts in the courtyard of the East Mansion are also fine works of art. The houses, doors, windows, partitions, and handrails in the main courtyard are carefully carved with patterns of flowers and gold. A pair of unicorns are lifelike and moving; the woodcut dragons and phoenixes on the Guanhua Building dance gracefully with different expressions. The magnificent classical building is decorated with exquisite woodcut patterns, making the whole building look rich and resplendent.
