Amazon Theatre

The Amazon Theatre (Portuguese: Teatro Amazonas), located in the city of Manaus, the capital of the northern Amazon state of Brazil, is a landmark building in Manaus. This is the location for the annual Amazon Opera Festival, where the Amazon Orchestra rehearses regularly and serves as the venue for Amazon Theatre Choir, concerts and other performances.

When I was in Manaus I learned that a lot of the shows at the Amazon Theatre were free, so I lined up for a night to see a wonderful jazz show. You should be here at least an hour in advance to find a seat. It would be better two hours in advance as seats are limited. But really a great experience! Definitely worth it! I feel like I'm back 200 years ago. The exterior architecture and interior of the theater still maintains a classical style. The performance was really amazing, lasted an hour and a half. I almost got out of my queue because I had to go to the bathroom halfway through, but luckily they still opened the door and let us in in time. Awesome! I will definitely come back to this theatre when I come to Manaus again.

We visited the VIP room, dressing room, exercise room, etc. in turn, to understand the choice and matching of lamps, floors, wall tiles, dance beauty, sound and performance clothes, and to understand the artistic concept of the designer. The whole visit process is a beautiful enjoyment.

The Amazon Theatre must be the first stop for a tour of Manaus. It was a surprise to meet such a magnificent theatre in this small town. But if you have as little time as we do, you can also follow the guide with only 20 local currencies to find out that South America is comparable to many European concert halls in the eye-catching theatre. There are Portuguese and English explanations. You can choose English when buying tickets. Note that it is not buy-in, but every other time, a small team. It's not allowed to move freely in the interior. It's important to follow the commentator.

This opera house is an opera house for more than a hundred years. It is a building left under British colonial rule. It is very atmospheric and the statues on it are beautiful. When we entered, we were performing an opera. It can be seen that the cultural life of Manaus City is more colorful.
