Yuanshi Cave, also known as Guanyin Cave, is located on the left side of Mengzi to Wenshan Road, 39 kilometers from Mengzi, a township of Mingyu Miao nationality. The Yuanshi is meant to be a lion, which originated from the legend of a pair of Miao lovers who died in the cave and a lion appeared and rescued them from distress. In 1879 (Qing Guangxu five years) the construction of Taoist monastery, from three feet to the mountainside arranged by the mountain, in a "spirit" shape, including the mountain gate, the spiritual palace, Hengjingtai, the return to the truth, Sanyi Palace, the Fire Temple, the white jade building and other buildings, the scale is magnificent and scattered. Its upper edge of the lion cave, there is Yungui Governor Yu Ying inscription "the first cave in southern Fujian". The cave has Guanyin, Luohan, Dianchi Jinmu and other stone carving statues, is a famous tourist attraction in Mengzi. It was announced as a cultural relics protection unit in Yunnan Province in 1993.
