Dinglin Pagoda

The Xiadinglin Temple in Fangshan was large in scale during the Ming and Qing Ding Dynasty and belonged to one of the famous Jinling temples. After Dinglin Temple was destroyed, only Dinglin Temple Tower was left. The tower was built in the Southern Song Dynasty Qiandao for nine years (1173 AD) and has been 838 years. The tower is about 14 ． 50 meters high, and is a seven-level and eight-sided wooden structure pavilion-style brick tower. The bottom and second floors are square, and the upper three floors are cylindrical. The bottom floor is only open to the south, with stone carvings in the center, and Buddhas on the east, west and north. The tower is bricked into a wooden structure of columns and arches. The tower of Dinglin Temple was originally tilted northward 7.59 degrees, and the slope was retained after correction in 2003. In the world famous leaning tower, the leaning tower of Pisa in Italy is 4 degrees, and the tilt of Suzhou Tiger Hill Tower is 3.5 degrees. Dinglin Temple Tower is the world's first leaning tower.
