I grew up outside of Richmond, and Maymont Park was a very much frequented landmark - it’s where our high school held picnics, where we brought out-of-state (and out-of-country) visitors. I left Richmond after high school 16yrs ago but still make a trip to Maymont now and then when visiting my parents. So grateful the city has maintained the park so well for the public to enjoy (it’s Free!).

[Viewing Lands Tour Summer Manor in Lincoln] Richmond (Richmond) is the capital of Virginia, the capital of the United States during the Civil War, and one of the most enthusiastic viewing places in historical and humanistic films. The film Lincoln was shot in Maymont, a 40-hectare manor house with a range of pastures, gardens, mansion and natural centers. The day I went was just noon, the sun was super sun, the trees in the manor were relatively small, and the large grass was very carefully maintained. I like the Japanese garden the most, the small bridge and waterfall koi, more beautiful than expected. Adjacent to the Japanese garden is the Roman garden, but the flower season seems to be over and it seems a bit deserted. The tour of the Mansion was someone taking a tour upstairs, and we didn't have much time to stay here, so we just wandered around the ground floor with the room, kitchen, and image information for the servants. | Maymont address | 1700 Hampton St, Richmond, VA 23220 opening hours|10am-7pm fare: free admission, donation accepted
