Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route is a stunning route in every season, through Mount Tateyama in the Northern Alps and traversed by various types of transportation such as cable cars, trolley buses, and ropeways. It's ussually started open in mid of April when the snow is still fresh and thick. Eventhough it's already Spring season in throughout Japan, but if you're planning to go to Tateyama Alpine Route, you have to prepare your winter coat. As the weather is still too cold. When I've been there, it was -2ºC, meanwhile the weather in Tokyo was about 16ºC. I bought a local 2 days 1 night tour and went there with my 6yo daughter. The tour was travelling East direction, from Tateyama Station to Ogizawa Station. We noticed that there is lesser crowd if u start from Ogizawa to Tateyama. During this 2-day coach trip, we wander past traditional Japanese farmhouses in World Heritage–listed Shirakawago village and stroll the mountain town of Hida Takayama, aka Little Kyoto. We started from : 1. Tateyama Cable Car (7 mins ) 2. Bijodaira 3. Tateyama Highland Bus (30 mins) (Shomyo Falls can be seen from the bus) 4. Murodo (lunch, stroll, experience the snow wall) 5. Tateyama Tunnel Trolley Bus (10 mins) 6. Daikanbo (the observation deck atop the station or enjoy the view from the second floor) 7. Tateyama Ropeway (7 mins) 8. Kurobe Cable Car (5 mins) 9. Kurobe Dam sightseeing 10. Kanden Tunnel Electric Bus (16 mins) 11. Ogizawa Station. 1433m above sea level. 12. The end of the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route. We took 5 hrs to complete the whole route from Tateyama Station to Ogizawa Station. The snow wall was by far the highlight though all the other points were very beautiful. The ropeway with 360 degree views of the snow clad mountains on all sides was a beauty. I would highly recommend this to everyone visiting Japan, and especially in April when the snow wall is at its highest point. We wish that we have more time at the Murodo as my daughter loves playing with snow and the walk along the snow wall was very amazing. #newyearadventure #japan

Tateyama Kurobe Alpine is wonderful scenery, you can see nature 😊 The opening schedule is fixed from April to November, and what you can experience at each time will change. Please note that the famous Yuki-no-Otani and Kurobe Dam discharge water only at certain times. Spring with lingering snow, summer with abundant vegetation and animal encounters, autumn with beautiful autumn leaves, I think you can have a wonderful experience in any season. This is my second visit , is very recommended to visit here and don't forget to bring sunglasses to avoid the brightness of snow and sun shine.

living in tropical country has left me wondering how the snow looks like in real life. as years gone by, after failed to travel to japan in 2015 and turkey in 2021, finally with the best deal I got from trip.com on june 13,2022 without knowing I will able to make it or not I bought return ticket from Jakarta to Tokyo even though at that time Japan’s border was still closed. but on mid September 2022 the answer was settled when the official Japanese prime minister announced that japan would be open for solo traveller. and the time was come A330 and A320 flew me across the sea and finally touch down in Tokyo Japan. no other things to describe my feeling but happy. with the researchI’ve done, I found the place that still has the snow in japan in the middle of fall season, without further think, after I change the JR Pass voucher I directed go to Nagano and try to visit alpine route. during the journey after I got in second transportation I look outside and it’s snowing and full of snow, and I run through the door and feel every snow felt in my jacket and I even take of my gloves just to feel the snow, at that time my thought was flying to the memories when I watched Christmas’s movie with full of snow, I was so happy at that time. and I met with this couple from Dubai and I offer them to make a video for the for free cause at that trip was they honeymoon, and this video one of my creation while I was in japan for around 7 days. #2023travelwish and my travel wish I really hope in my next birthday on February 2023 I will be able to travel to America to celebrate my birthday and to checked one of my bucket list, and of course I will make a great video content while I’m in USA.
