Zhangjiajie National Forest park is a MUST VISIT place in China. 💙 What a stunning sight!! When we arrived in Zhangjiajie, I could see the Avatar Mountains from a distance. I thought they were stunning, even from far away. But oh, I didn't know anything until I finally got to see them up close. 🚠 I opted to take the cable car most of the way up the mountain. You'll have to buy a ticket for the cable car which will cost you around 96rmb round trip! The journey is short, around 6 minutes long, but it's a breathtaking sight. ⛰️ Once up the mountain, you can follow the trails around to see the natural beauty of the mountains. There are multiple look-out spots that are perfect for photos. 🌈 If you're looking for more fun in Zhangjiajie, you can also choose to ride up the Bailong Elevator, the tallest outdoor elevator in the world. This elevator takes you approximately 2 minutes and will cost you 65rmb. This gives you a stunning view of the Hallelujah Mountain, a staple of Zhangjiajie. The natural scenery of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park is known for its remarkable peaks, secluded valleys, and graceful forests. The peaks resemble humans and beasts, utensils and objects, with lifelike images and a spectacular presence. With three thousand peculiar peaks and eight hundred beautiful waters, one looks up to see a pillar in the distance, and bows down to see the dust of the world below. Being amidst this landscape, the visual shock is followed by amazement at nature's incredible craftsmanship. The floating mountains of 'Hallelujah Mountain' in the movie 'Avatar' were also filmed here, and those who have seen the movie will certainly not find this place unfamiliar. After a while, it really takes some imagination to keep appreciating the mountains, as the earth's crustal movement is truly a divine axe. The spacious canyons, peculiar stone pillars, and green vegetation make up the unique landscape painting of Zhangjiajie. Strolling in this mountainous world, one's soul enjoys the grand beauty of lush mountains, exquisite waters, and deep clouds, immersed in it, in utmost tranquility.

I am staying in Zhangjiajie, close to Dayong town, so booked a taxi to the site costing approximately 90rmb. I made sure to leave extremely early to beat the crowds and arrived at 7am. It was very easy to buy a ticket and considering the ticket gives you access to the park for 4 days, very cost effective. My ticket cost 224rmb. The ticket includes the shuttle bus journeys but not the cable car trips (65-75rmb), glass elevator (65rmb) or sightseeing train (38rmb). These have to be booked separately at the site. This did bump the cost up quite a bit. The park is huge! I spent 2 days exploring. Everything is beautiful and easy to find if you have a map (our hotel provided us with a map and you can buy them on site). There are numerous highlights to see such as the first bridge, the Avatar shooting site, the glass elevator and Tianzi mountain. There are also lots of hiking trails offered and these are clearly labelled on the map. We hiked up Tianzi mountain, it was a fantastic experience that took about 2 hours. The visit requires a lot of walking so wear sensible shoes. There are plenty of food and drink options on site. There is also lots of shopping opportunities, I bought a beautiful oil painting of the mountains. Day2 Route：Forest Park ticket station - Huangshi Village - Golden Whip Creek - Ten miles gallery.There are a lot of monkeys at the gate of the forest park and Huangshi village, we met the monkey fight, there are a lot of monkey mothers with little monkeys ask food from tourists, you should better not taking food and bags, or there will be a risk of being caught by monkeys! Huangshi Village is the earliest scenic area developed in Zhangjiajie. Now not many people go there. You can walk for 2 hours to avoid the crowds. Ten Mile Gallery is great place to be visit by a small train. When you enter, you’d better to sit on the left side of the train and when you come out, you sit on the right side of the train. Three sisters mountain is the most significant attention.Although we caught the rain, but after the rain the air more fresh, misty like a fairyland!
