Fengcheng is situated in the middle of Jiangxi Province, and is an important production base for grain in China. Fengcheng’s specialty snack is dongmitang. This is made by rural dwellers who allow glutinous rice to dry in the sun before frying it and mixing it with mitang, after which it is cut into pieces and served with tea. Fengcheng was once home to the Hongzhou Kiln, one of the famous celadon pottery kilns of the Tang Dynasty. Fengcheng has a rich cultural history that includes the culture of swords, porcelain, water, classical learning, and ancient architecture.
