We enter from Yuexiu Park Metro Station and take Line 1 to Huangsha Station to begin today's Continental Tour - Shamian. The sand is surrounded by water and connected by four bridges. There are more than 150 European-style buildings on Shamian Island. Among them, 42 are the most exotic European architecture complex in Guangzhou, which have outstanding features of new baroque, imitation Gothic, coupon gallery, neoclassical and Chinese-Western style buildings. Unfortunately, it rained heavily, which affected the photography. Shamian Island in the rain has a hazy beauty. There is also a primary school here, which is catching up with the students after school. I envy these children and see so many beautiful buildings every day. And Shamian Primary School itself is a beautiful building, considered eclectic architecture, also known as the New Baroque. It's like a big European garden full of small castles. The path between each building is surrounded by flowers, grass and trees. From time to time, there are many interesting sculptures. Although this is not a pedestrian street, only the outside streets are open to traffic. The big trees here are basically ancient banyan trees for more than a hundred years. They are lush, vigorous and shady. The air in the rain is especially fresh. No. 14 Shamian Street is Notre Dame of Luther. It was unexpectedly founded in the 16th year of Guangxu (1890). It was originally set up for the religious life of the members of the French Consulate in Guangzhou. It is now the Catholic Diocese of Guangzhou. We will have a group of foreign friends doing Mass around Easter.
Notre Dame Luther is a Catholic church on the other side of the sand, which is slightly larger than the sand church. The church has very beautiful statues and painted glass describing biblical stories. Its tower can be climbed, standing on the top of a four-storey tower, overlooking the whole old sandy city, feeling quite good.
The Catholic Church of Notre Dame Luther is one of the landmarks on the sand, with many people beating punch points. The church is not big, with its beige exterior wall, clean and bright. On the south side of the garden, there is a holy tomb hill with a statue of the Virgin of Luther. The seven-coloured glass in the church has the experience of Jesus. The use of stained glass in churches is mainly due to two reasons: on the one hand, the sun shines through stained glass in the daytime, which is dazzling and colourful, and can form a completely different spatial light and shadow effect from everyday life. The priests explained that this is just like the scene of God's place of residence; on the other hand, the holy image of the Bible is painted on the stained glass windows. Stories can help poor and illiterate people learn through images. In addition, until the Middle Ages, stained glass windows were considered luxury goods, and it had only the opportunity to be used in the most important religious buildings of the time.
For the first time I came into contact with the church, but unfortunately there was no priest in it.
The Notre Dame Church of Lude is located in the Notre Dame Church of Lude, the Catholic Diocese of Guangzhou, 14 Shamian Street, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province. It is a Catholic church with a history of one hundred years. The Gothic architecture is unique, so it is also the first choice for many newly married couples to take wedding dresses. I also took this picture here. There is a bell tower on one side of the church. The top of the red tower is unusual. If there is a traffic route, you can take Metro Line 6 and walk after you get off at Cultural Park Station. Coming over at the weekend, we can see the worshippers'worship and confession, which is a good place to release the complicated soul. The glazed windows and doors are very beautiful and colorful. Once Christmas came, the doors were crowded with people. Only believers could enter them. I want to know their beliefs. It's very clean and tidy to visit them for free.
Last week, I visited Guangzhou again and went to the sand, where I was once again attracted by the Notre Dame Church of Luther. This is an early Catholic Church in Guangzhou. It is small but exquisite. The church can be visited freely. Although there were many visitors, they were quiet.
Notre Dame Luther Church is in the quiet environment of the sand. It's small in size and belongs to a small and exquisite type, but its architecture is very distinctive. It stands quietly in the big environment like the sand surface. It's not at all publicized. But every Christmas, it's also a very popular goal. On Christmas Eve, worship activities and smoking are held here. Many people were brought here for a visit.
Notre Dame Church in Shamian is a small Catholic church located on Shamian Island in Guangzhou City, China. The church was built in 1889 and is located in the French Concession of Guangzhou with an area of only 60 mu. It serves the overseas Chinese. Holy Virgin Luther is the patron of the church. The church is hidden in the shade of trees on the sand. The light and shadow effect is very good. It is suitable for photography.
A Church in the sand is very busy, people come and go, and many tourists come and visit it. There are many new couples taking wedding photos at the door. There is a statue of the Virgin Mary in the yard. The interior of the church is not very large. It can be seen to the end at a glance. You can go in and sit quietly. You can also see it and come out. It's very casual. No one will interfere. There are two famous churches here. This is one of them. This one is more lively and smaller, but it feels very close to the people. There are stalls in the yard to buy some peripheral products.
