Mehrangarh Fort, still managed by the Maharaja of Jodhpur, is a very charming place. A must-go place in Jodhpur. On this 125-meter-high mountain, the height of this ancient fortress gradually becomes apparent as you approach. It's an obsessive, daunting architectural feat. Its battlements are 6-36 meters high. Since the building materials are carved out of the rock at the foot of the castle, the whole building is integrated with its foundation. The maharajas of Jodhpur built many parts for it over the centuries. First of all, it consists of many annexes, such as the Pearl Palace (MotiMahal), the Glass Palace (SheeshMahal), and the Treasure Pavilion (DaulatKhana). These palaces themselves are exquisite works of art, with ceilings, doors, windows and walls all in different shapes and colors. Secondly, since the castle was built entirely on the basis of the mountain, although the exterior is integrated, the interior palaces are on different planes and are connected by corridor stairs. This kind of building pattern of outer circle and inner square is still worthy of investigation and study by people in the construction industry until now.
